  1. Steve of this forum answered the above on where to buy a good d-lock, thanks Steve. (He's not still banned is he?). Some bugger tried to steal our bikes by jumping over the fence, fortunately they are secured to a very very long ladder.
  2. LM will you be in there taking people's coats at the door?

Friends/family just being over generous with stuff which is great.Hope you are not too jet lagged from your flight from NZ. A month goes quick. Candj yes friends also offering their mattresses.
  4. Having support of family and friends should make a big difference too, as long as they don't get too bossy and know it all right?
  5. Thanks pickle, had anybody used Peppermint on Northcote rd to buy a buggie? What about a mattress for the buggie is it the same or just buy a sheepskin? thank you.
  6. Thanks ladywotlunches for being straightforward, maybe we will keep the mattresses if we will be blessed, for the next kid.(tu)

  8. Narnia, some of us will be eating meating tonight whereas some of the others will not hence the veggie version haggis.
  9. Thanks candj and everyone, the natural coconut one looks good and ?75 from that website posted doesn't seem bad, my instinct tells me to buy a new one. Especially if it helps baby sleep :-S . So one for moses basket/crib and also cot will discuss with missus. Yes buggies, moos and some friends recommends xlr as it suits newborns aswell but we are being offered a bugaboo for starting off with too.2 buggies in one house?
  10. Hello. On another thread peope were saying that it's ok use a second hand mattress but i was reading somewhere that cot death could be linked to bacteria in a used mattress. Just asking for further clarification on this and everyone on that thread is far more qualified than me on this subject but that thread is on a different subject as the moderator stated. So do i buy new one or receive a used one that are on offer to us? for a new born coming soon. Where do you buy a new one locally if this would be the case? Or just go to John Lewis as lots of folk seem to? Many thanks.
  11. Jonathon Miller, ok not proper famous but local when he's not on Ch4 news on a different continent each time.
  12. surely hibbs wins this tongues down.(tu)
  13. Thanks MM interesting. Bought some Mcsweene veggie haggis from Smbs and some hardcore haggis from Franklins.

Try flock browser or indeed Firefox browser and that should sort it out like others have said. Used to use Safari too and it didn't get on with FB either.
  15. No problem Smiler, sorry about that all, will come back to this thread once we have the kid if my nerves are still intact.:-S edited for typo
  16. Thanks Belle and WoD for your recommendations and for the book ideas too. Mclaren looking likely. Keef baby due in April. Thanks for the muslin and baby grow tip. Is a mattress size standard for cribs and moses baskets? Is it true to only use a new mattress to avoid baby complications?
  17. thanks all, littleEdfamily, i mean for the baby. And which buggy is best to go for? ppl keep saying maclaren xt??? thanksxx
  18. Thank you all and will keep an eye on here.
  19. We are about to have our first child and thanks to all on this discussion for their experiences and what an informative read. Fingers crossed. We have not purchased anything yet as friends and family want to give what they have but what is the most important thing we should buy? Thanks
  20. James thanks for that. It would be helpful for the forumites to know which section these properties are in and did this come up at the last ssba meeting?
  21. Sean do you use the microwave for anything at all?
  22. I don't think another supermarket on LL is needed either but i do wish that co-op would keep good stock levels up. Recently tried to buy fruits and veggies and their stock level was incredibly low. I hope the manager hears us.
  23. Doesn't mean to say his organisation will run better without you RosieH, things just happen, and for a reason i suppose. Spooky story though.
  24. ha ha nice one David, well we were in there too to buy items that we could not buy else where at that time for a dinner party and for your info were going to say hi and happy new year to you but after grabbing your spinach you rushed off down the aisle, next time though. Thanks for your kind words too.
  25. (tu) to RosieH for keeping it local. Me wonders if DC has more willpower that 99% of the population and left Sainsbos last night without buying all the extra crap. Or was it just popeye food for dini dins. Is the council thinking of doing away with the mental health clinic and selling to a store? Why?
