Hi Luana, I've just received tihs email from the Dept of Transport I would encourage you to respond the night fligts consultation: From: Night Noise To: undisclosed-recipients Sent: Mon Nov 11 11:15:31 2013 Subject: Night Flying Restrictions at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted: Stage 2 Consultation Good morning, I am writing to let you know that the Department for Transport has today published its second stage consultation for the next night noise regime at Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted Airports from October 2014. The consultation can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/night-flights. This second stage consultation follows an analysis of responses to the first stage consultation issued in January 2013 and this consultation includes a summary of these. The consultation closes on 31 January 2014. Details on how to respond are included in the document?s executive summary. We are sending this message to those who responded to the first stage consultation and other relevant organisations for which we have contact details, in particular those within the aviation industry, local authority representatives, airport consultative committees, environmental organisations and local community groups. As this may not cover all possible interested groups, please disseminate this to your own stakeholders with an interest in this subject. For those who do not have access to the internet, we will be happy to provide a hard copy of the consultation on request by emailing [email protected] or calling Colin Dunn on 020 7944 2216. Regards, Tamara Goodwin Aviation Policy Implementation Department for Transport -

Hi Luana, I'd recommend you join Heathrow Action Campaign Against Noise HACAN who fight excessive noise for all Londoners. Our area is increasingly suffering aircraft noise. Partly because we're so close to Heathrow's landing flight path and partly because of London City Airport who are rapidly expanding and recently given rights to increase its flights by 50%. Hi Mick Mac, I was promised this pavement area - or at least the council part - would be puddle free and flat during the Autumn. I'll chase. -

Hi El Pipe, They have no plans and ward councillors didnt suggest it. Hi cle, No further Oyster provision planned. Effectively they've reproduced what was there before but a much longer walk to stair ot platforms and lifts for those that need them. No cashmachine. Yes, they are talking aobut having a coffee shop back again. -

After contacting Southwakr Council Planning Enforcement. They've been assured that the old staircases and pedestrian footbridge will reopen next week. Not clear which day next week but not long to go. -

Hi eastdulwichhenry, St.Francis Park is provided by Sainsbury's as part of the original agreement for their supermarket to be built. The legal agreement states the park will close at sunset and open at sunrise. If someone tries to eject you tell them their in breach of Sainsburys Legal agreement. Frankly I'd refuse to move on principle but undersand reticence to do this. Email me such occurences. We need Sainsbury's to deliver a park of the quality envisaged inthe agreement. -
The Demolition of 34 East Dulwich Grove
James Barber replied to Marcus's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
The site owner won on appeal to rebuild the site into 5 flats. The orignal application was efused by local councillors for a variety of still good reaosn - but then I would say that. The planning inspector isagreed and approved the scheme. So much for local democracy. The proposed building is an over intensification of the site. It will increase parking stress. Hopefully the developer will make the best possible quality building despite the proposed scheme and it wont blott this corner of East Dulwich as much as many fear. -

Yes, locked parks can be broken into but locked parks suffer far less malicious damage than unlocked parks. -

Unlurked you're being obtuse now. They rang the number and the council official on the other end couldnt get a park warden to revisit the park to let the locked in people out. -
Suspicous Person in Underhill Road - 640am
James Barber replied to tikkiuk's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
You should call Police 101 number under such circumstances. The biggest issue local Police report to me is people AFTER the event saying they had some suspicions but didnt want to bother the Police. -
Hi rahrahrah, Sadly Southwark Council has decided it doesnt want any cycle street clutter of the likes of cyclehoop products. REally frustrating as we had funding for such measures but were rejected! Hi veralucia, I understand ths townley Road/East Dulwich grove junction will have diagonal crossing points recognising those 'desire lines' as well a regular junction arms.

Hi unlurked, We disagree. Not making it clear when a park closes and having no process for releasing people when it closes are issues that need to be fixed. Such a call-out procedure coudl support thE Police invesitgating a break-in of a cafe, looking for a lost child, etc, etc. -
bus shelter count downs..........
James Barber replied to jane1's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
TfL are revamping Countdown. In the process they're removing Countdown displays from some bus stps and placing them at others. It is an exceptionally expensive system that only covers a small minority of bus stops. I'm tempted to have a play and produce a cheap COuntdown terminal for bus stops. -

Hi Apollo4000, The last third of Landcroft Road that hasnt been resurfaced will be in January. Hi eliz01, I'm really sorry you got tracked inside Dulwich Park. Font size 10 isnt the most helpful signage that oculd be placed. I've contacted the head of parks to try and understand how this could happen and what the parks team will do to ensure it doesn't happen again. Hi unlurked, But I'm assuming she;s an East Dulwich resident. Also it raises the general principle of how we sign changes in opening times for parks and what the procedure is for people getting locked inside any Southwark park. -

Hi unlurked, When we first introduced the free property marking kits we had zero burglaries for several months. Indeed the com providing them usually have around 80% reduction. -

James Barber replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hi unlurked, For the obvious reason burglers will soon realise if people generally don't apply the property marking and the stickers then become meaningless. Fascinating article I read that almost all criminals don't even know the likely punishment if they get caught. -
New entrance to Denmark Hill station
James Barber replied to youandiaredominoes's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It is amazing that they've replaced the old constraint of narrow footbridge with a narrow much longer footbridge and the narrow single doorway with ticket barriers. The capacity is the same after ? millions spent. Need someone to click those plastic tags holding the barriers over the revamped old footbridge and stair entrances. -
New entrance to Denmark Hill station
James Barber replied to youandiaredominoes's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I've found a contact to access about this from Southeastern. I'm also chasing planning enforcement to ensure the original footbridge and staircases are reopened ASAP. It is appalling that so much public money could be wasted and the job not even finished and with no regard of any kind to the travelling public utility at this station.
