  1. Hi Otta, I'm an elected representative. I wont sit on the licensing sub-committee and if I was asked would obviously decline in this instance. But I am biased on this. Last night we heard for over 40 people how the currently managed pub is blighting lives. We can be sure not everyone could attend with lots on holidays. The applicant needs to be a decent neighbour before contemplating longer hours. Not the other way round. And the evidence given by the applicant was very weak. Saying all that the Great Exhibiton does look a lot nicer than the old CPT and it could become a real asset if it recognised it's sat in a wholly residential area.
  2. Thanks to the 40-50 residents who turned up last night. The licensing sub-committee will decide this application, unless the applicant does the decent thing and withdraw it and sort their current anit-social behaviour out - 10am 30 August at councils HQ at 160 Tooley street, SE1. BUT this is daytime during the summer holidays and clear many people wont be able to attend then. so I have requested the chair of the licensing committe Cllr Sunil Chopra that the date be ushed out a week or two, be held locally in East dulwich and in the evening. Fingers crossed he accepts this reasonable request. The sub-committee is three councillors plus 2-4 of council officials coming to East Dulwich versus 50+ residents being disappointed or trogging up to Tooley Street.
  3. The Public Meeting about the proposed 100 hour pharmacy and needle exchange at thE Dulwich Medical Centre on Crystal Palace Road is 7.30pm 21 August at the East Dulwich Community centre on Darrell Road.
  4. Hi Only Me!, You may be correct in your impression. But since adding the final zebra crossing to the other two collissions over time have gone down. what did surprise me on Crash Maps was that the junction of Friern Road with Goodrich should be a problem.
  5. Not true. If you look at Crash Maps website http://www.crashmap.co.uk/Search - search on East Dulwich Road - you'll see one slight crash 8/2/11 involving two vehicles. Two slights in 2010 - 28/2 & 11/4. Three slights in 2009. Two slights in 2008. One slight 2007 and five slights 2006. Goose Green roundabout is for the amount of traffic amazingly safe. It defies traffic planners understanding and rules. Perhaps "Only me!" you've hit the nail on the head. People ensure they are fully alert when they use it and the result is an incredibly low collission rate.
  6. Hi P68, That's really useful and thanks for pointing it out. I'll try and get this fixed. Quite complicated to fix as they've repeated the mistake through the process. Hopefully it wont take long. Hi RotR, Many thanks for this - that's what we did in my house and it also worked a treat.
  7. I've just helped get some Council Tax casework resolved. They were beign taken to court needlessly. A number of emails were ignored from the resident to the council trying to sort it out. Council officials have stated they have a massive backlog of Council Tax related emails. If anyone has a Council Tax problem and been unable to make useful contact with council officials please do get in touch.
  8. Hi Bic Basher, The new Grove Vale library which I've spent a lot of time getting to this point will be rented to Southwark on a 125 year peppercorn rent lease. The Iceland/M&S site will be anything other than a peppercorn rent. Equally if a great library was built so centrally it would call into question the existing Dulwich Library.
  9. Hi Victoria, I'm really sorry this has happened in such a way to cause you this problem. Give meacouple of days to try and get this sorted and find out what te plans for number31 are. Regards james
  10. I didnt object I raised two issues that needed to be considered. With all due respect the-e-dealer this thread is meant for more than just you and me to bicker. You clearly object ot everything and anything I do. I'm one of the elected representative for East Dulwich ward - please let me serve all the residents of the ward and not just you via this forum.
  11. No I said I was disappointed its not proceeding.
  12. Hi the e dealer, I love open air cinema. I'm dissappointed its not going ahead but any event has to be properly planned.
  13. The consultation about Goose Green hosting a 300 person outdoor film one evening 7.30-11.30pm has resulted in the event not proceeding at Goose Green. I did express my doubts abotu what volume the film would need to be played at being so close to East Dulwich road versus its normal venue of Peckham Rye Park and Nunhead. And whether only 300 people would want to come to a free film. Shame someting couldnt be worked out.
  14. The public meeting has been moved forward by one day to 15th August.
  15. The conciliation meeting is crucial. If few turn up then the applicant can say people arnt really bothered. Beign in the middle of August doesnt help. If you support or object to this application do anything you can to turn-up - bring kids if necessary. Officers will report on attendance and that will influence, inteitonally or not, the councillors who sit on the sub-committee who will decide.
  16. Hi P68, No, the planning applicatino has been submitted by the freeholder. They state that their intended client is M&S and provide images alnog those lines. In planning terms it is agnostic about who will use an approved scheme. The occupier gets us all fired up because we all care passionately about our patch but in planning terms it irrelevant. IF M&S had bee nmore involved then the suggested errors probably wouldnt have been made. Appliying for the flats to be accessed across the service yard for example. Assuming access via land the freeholder doesnt own beign another.
  17. Network Rail stated they had capacity at Victoria to continue the SLL. The issue is the London Bridge end. LB used to have 22 platforms. Platforms 17-22 were lost with a 'new' signalling box in the 70'2. I've visited that box and its 50's & 60's technology. Network Rail have a plan to build a new regional signalling centre outside of London which would enable platforms 17-22 to reopen. Currently that area is used as a car park for railway staff (I kid you not). Sickening.
  18. The orignal East Lone Line Extension starting running before its advertised launch date - a soft launch. With test trains running already so many months ahead of December I would hope that the same approach is used again. It reduces risks for the full service worknig as planned and we all get a small window have we have better train services before the SLL is killed due to Boris.
  19. Removal of the SLL in no way compensates for ELL2. Its about Boris making outer London residents happier at the expense ?7M pa of Southwark and Lambeth residents. It's also about Southwark COuncil granting planning permission for a new London ridger station that wont have enough platforms to keep SLL. Orignal permision granted in 2002 and now in 2012 has this affect. Hi UDT, Is your post related to Peckham Rye? Many ED residents from the west side use Denmark Hill - Victoria.
  20. Any missed collections of stuff strewn everywhere email [email protected] if you get no joy escalate to a local councillor.
  21. Hi MM, I agree with you. I don't get presenters dismissing a silver or bronze, ie second of third best in the world, by presenters who are clearly not the best presenters or second best or third best in the world.
  22. I've just found possibly a useful gadget from UK Power Networks for checking on power cuts and when they think electricity would be restored - call 0800 028 0247 or test Power and your post code with the space eg. "Power SE22 8HA" to 80876. Do give me feedback no how it goes. They've also provide a public relations line for councillors so we can directly escalate issues.
  23. Not normal. But applications for 2.30am closing isn't normal in a quiet sidential aa.
  24. Hi Clementsann26, I'm afraid HM Land Registry charge ?4 per deed. Hi DawnSE22, Southwark PCT and the Dulwich Medical Centre have been proven not to follow the correct procedures and processes so an extension of the publci consultaion to 27 August has been agreed. My colleague councillor Jonathan Mitchell is leading on this for us. To support or object the proposed 100 hour phamarcy at the Dulwich Medical centre with needle exchange - which seems a strange idea opening effectively a shop in a residential street - email Kathy Dinning [email protected] who is the manager in charge of pharmcacy and optometry's.
  25. I've formally objected. Been meaning to do this for ages. I know my ward colleagues are planning to formally object. Really ill considered application adding extra 3 hours of opening Thurs, Fri and Sat nights as well as all bank holidays. Talk of a new courtyard for drinking presumably until 2.30am but no mention of a noise report to confirm noise wont disturb neighbours. Once this application is out the way I'd like nearby residents to confirm or deny that the outside area being used until 23.30 every night is a problem or not. If it is I'll ask for a licence review.
