  1. Congratulations everyone! Oscar is now two weeks old and I'd be up for a meet up if anyone fancy a coffee?
  2. Hi ladies, Our son Oscar arrived early on Sunday morning and a healthy little boy. I am finally feeling better after having had treatment for a rare but very painful side effect from the epidural I had during labour. We are still on the post natal ward but hoping to go home today! Lots of love Sofia, Reuben and baby Oscar
  3. Huge congratulations Laura and Ronnie! Xx
  4. Sorry to have missed you to Jenny, we should have posted something but did not think of it! :/ I'd be up for meeting up on the 20th unless I've had my baby by then. I'm due on Monday but certain it wont happen until later...
  5. Tomorrow afternoon is fine by me, I'm not doing anything! Weather is not looking great tomorrow though so we might have to skip the park. x
  6. I've got no plans at all this week, except from trying to keep active and go for lots of walks (trying to get things started!). The park sounds nice if the weather allows it!
  7. Hi everyone, how are you all doing? I'm feeling alright, although quite fed up with being pregnant at times, specially in the nights. Is anyone up for a coffee this week, I guess a lot of us who's due date is in June will be on maternity leave by now... Sofia x
  8. I've only been to the Duck Egg cafe once so don't know what it's like on a friday afternoon, but surely it can't be that busy....? Anyway, looking forward to see you guys tomorrow 3pm. Sofia x
  9. Oh did it again, used my other login name - mrsS and Astrid83 is the same person - Sofia.
  10. I'm up for coffee next Friday! Any ideas of where we could meet?
  11. Looking forward to see you all on Tuesday! MissusF, another june-baby, exciting, it will be nice to meet you on Tuesday at the East Dulwich Tavern. Anyone else having trouble sleeping BTW? I'm always up at 4 am, wide awake, and its getting kind of boring as well as exhausting....
  12. My husband and I got married 2 years ago and we kept the cost down by not getting married in the UK, but in Sweden (where I am from). I think that as soon as you mention the word wedding here, the cost doubles. Specially in London! We spent less than 10K (which for us is a lot!!) and had a beautiful wedding with approx 80 guests. We got married in a church from 12th century, then had the reception at a hotel which we had to ourselves by the third biggest lake in Sweden. The staff at the hotel set the table and decorated so we did not have to worry about that. We had transport from the church for ourselves and the guests, a three course meal including bubbly and canapes, staff that served all the meals, wedding cake, coffee and whiskey, free bar all night and a live band.... I'm pretty sure the same wedding in England would have been over 20K!
  13. mee mee - I've done a few classes on Buchan Road (Nunhead) with Catherine Arnold. She is very good. I had really bad pelvic pain in the first trimester and saw a brilliant physio at Monument, let me know if you want dcontact details.
  14. Private landlord! I've been renting in London for 10 years, and for the last six years I've rented through three different private landlords. I find the experience so much better than going trough an agency. But it depends on the landlord of course. I find that renting privately is slightly cheaper (no silly fees or admin costs) and that when a problem occurs, such as a broken boiler or washing machine, I can get hold of my landlord the same day and get the problem dealt with. When renting through an agency there has been endless phone calls, and always having to wait weeks to get a simple problem even looked at!
  15. Sounds good to me. How are u all feeling? I'm exhausted!
  16. Yes please adopt a kitten from a rescue center. I've got two lovely cats and they both came from North London Cat Home, I've had no problems at all with them and they really are the most affectionate cats I've ever met. A bit more like dogs really - so sociable and friendly. A bit high maintenance in my opinion but that's probably due to the fact mu husband and I spoil them! There are SO many cats and kittens that need a new home. Celia Hammond is great and do such amazing work around south London, it's kitty season now so they are probably more than happy to help.
  17. Buffnutter, of course it is! East dulwich tavern, 7 pm on Tuesday!
  18. I'm still in as well! Looking forward to it!
  19. I'm interested in hypnobirthing. I did look in to it earlier but found it a bit too expensive. How many people can she take in one group?
  20. OK so let's say 10.30 The Gardens cafe this Sunday. I'll call up and see if I can book a table. Sofia x
