South Circular closed just after the Grove
richard tudor replied to ruffers's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
If memory serves me correct was Dulwich Common not closed a short while ago that caused chaos. Why has Southwark Council not got a standby plan knowing the result from this incident that could have been implemented Perhaps their plan is to cause as much chaos as possible to bring in yet more plans to get rid of cars. -
What is quite interesting is Jasmine Ali, Deputy Leader and one of the Cllrs for this part of the world, who also lives just off Rye Lane has not put her name down to attend. First hand knowledge on the situation. Then again she nevers answer any emails on this subject particularly as to whether the P13 will be reinstated on its original route. Surly Cllrs like this should be in attendance?

I have been holding on at number 1 to book a telephone consultation for 23 minutes. DMC Crystal Palace Road. Just been answered 30 minutes at no 1. Its a joke. -
That's because it does not run on its original route. Leaves the bus garage then goes along Peckham Road, into Lyndhurst Road and then into the Bellenden one way system, Missing out the Rye lane part into Chadwick Road. As the Deputy Leader of the Council lives in Chadwick Road perhaps they do not want to have a bus route. The original route was instigated for a reason. People.

Was this petrol queue for the goose green petrol station? Dogkennelhillbilly Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Yep > alice Wrote: > -------------------------------------------------- > ----- > > So if car use switched to bikes in then > > Bets we?re told how come the queues for petrol > are > > so long? > Huh? When I was in the garage yesterday around 1330 waiting to fill up they came out and closed the pump. How come they have managed to get fully stocked so quickly? What I did notice was the price of petrol had gone from the middle 1.30's the day before to I think 1.48 a litre on this day. Feel sure my memory is correct but could be wrong but I have this figure in my brain. When this garage first opened many years ago it was the cheapest in the area now it is the dearest only to be used in an emergency. How times have changed.

Which like LTN will see a great influx of traffic which again will move the problem to another area. The whole thing has not been sensibly thought through. ?? in Southwark's eyes only -
Why should the Mayor of London change or consider any other plan when he takes 3 cars when taking his dog for a walk. Most people very soon would appreciate having a car for important day to day living.
-
Thought we had a sensible system already. Bus lane for buses and bikes the other lane for cars. No independent cycle lanes. Worked perfectly before the cyclist will just have to revert to the old tried and tested ways and use the bus lane.

So if you want to go North in the morning how do you go north in the afternoon if it is one way?

With regard to leaf picking up by residents perhaps you might be interested in the following, it took 6 months for the figures to be released. Perhaps they should should consider how they waste money. Dear Mr Tudor, Please excuse the delay in replying to you regarding the brown bin subscription scheme. I can provide the following answer to your questions 1. How many people took up the offer to pay in the first year- 11902 2. How many people had their brown bins collected as they no longer wanted them - number of brown bins removed was 13,727 bins 3. Please see the table below which sets out the areas of one off expenditure and final costs for the initial roll-out of the service in 2019/20. Description Cost Communications ?37,418 Container removal ?40,812 Container Purchase ?89,599 Container delivery ?57,190 Container repair ?10,190 Consultancy ?10,052 IT configuration ?9,524 Total ?254,785 The initial roll-out costs include a number of one-off expenditure items that are unique to the set up of the new service. Therefore, total expenditure is relatively high in the first year compared to the anticipated level of expenditure in following years. The estimated level of expenditure to maintain the service from year two onwards is actually ?50k. I hope this information is useful. Best wishes, -

Rye Lane NEWSFLASH buses to return !
richard tudor replied to intexasatthe moment's topic in The Lounge
When and if this happens will the P13 be reinstated on its old route down Blenheim Grove into Rye Lane or will residents of Bellenden Village and its surrounding streets still be expected to walk to rye lane. Or will they still have to get carried down Lydenhurst and into the bus garage and then walk back. None of Southwark's plans are what they seem. -
Why can the pavement sanitation executives not note things like this and report back to Southwark HQ to repair before it gets so bad Conways have to be drafted in for weeks to fix?

If you do tell the lane Cllrs do not hold your breath for an acknowledgement or answer. Perhaps these are the same people who paint sprayed the spitfire. -

I have lived in the area for almost 75 years, my grandparents lived in the area since the early 1900 as did my parents, unfortunately the area has lost its soul and now seems to have been taken over by the young who know it all, no experience in life, just moved in and if you do not agree with their views you are wrong. Woe be tide you if of the same generation you will suffer banishment from twitter or what ever social media they all communicate through, never to be heard of or spoke to again for not agreeing. Do not let them drive you out. When they get older they will realise what pratts they really are or were. Still when we are gone our history will wiped from the history books.

Will Southwark Council charge for parents who have children at the above schools to park or will it be another perk most of us will not be entitled to have should we want to use the park for personnel use?
