  1. So the question is, what are they doing!?
  2. Should absolutely remain in SE22! There is no snobbery there, SE22 = East Dulwich. Simple.
  3. Is this another Facebook fad?
  4. Impress Dry Cleaners have torn both a pair of Armani suit trousers AND a suit jacket (on separate occasions) costing me dearly , since I only noticed after collecting. Absolutely NOT Impress for me!
  5. This is why I'm going to invent a doorbell that will only make a sound between the hours of 9am and 10pm! If it's someone I want to talk to, they will have my mobile number. And the letter box will only open between certain hours to reduce junk-mail!
  6. Me.. licence and car at 17 (and 1 month) - essential for wooing girls when you're living in the heart of rural Dorset. I then moved to central London where a car was pointless (girls aplenty and public transport at a frequency greater than 1 bus per hour, followed by a 1h journey to civilisation). Then I moved to ED 5 years ago and got a little runabout - cheaper than renting cars regularly at weekends, even with fuel, depreciation (a ?1 car has little depreciation!), maintenance, tax etc. The runabout turned out too expensive to warrant fixing up for a failed MOT, so I scrapped it and traded up for a something a little less practical, let's say. One can get a lot of car for their money at the moment! The most practical, cheap and efficient way of getting around has to be the scooter though. It's not for everyone and clearly not the safest option, but I'd trade every other option in to keep the scooter. I agree a push bike is the greener option, but the lack of road presence and fact that a shower is required at both legs of a reasonable length journey somewhat puts me off. Can't wait to hit those bus lanes in Jan! ;)
  7. Foxtons is owned by BC Partners anyway. There is no Foxtons 'company' as we used to know it. It was a Leveraged Buy-Out (LBO) back when the markets were on steroids, so perhaps they are in trouble. The original post was clearly rubbish. 'Mr Foxtons' didn't do too badly from that, so I very much doubt he's too worried, although his Holland Park mansion my have lost as few pennies in the past few months.
  8. Eclipse is a good name.
  9. Can someone please catch the postie when he does this!!! I'd love to see what he says. This is disgraceful - they are just too lazy to carry around the parcels so would rather you just pick them up from the sorting office. The ED office needs a damn good shake up. An I'm still waiting from my 30th birthday cuff links that were sent by my brother in August!
  10. Huguenot, the fact that you had to work that out probably means you shouldn't be driving a car!
  11. Best location for a Simply Foods ;)
  12. Great Idea. I'd add... Best cocktail Best breakfast This should be great PR for both the local retailers and the forum alike. I will nudge a new of my PR friends....

  14. Easiest is car/taxi!
  15. You could always just not buy them. Orange juice can be bought in plastic containers, as can milk etc.
  16. Charging for waste collection would be a disgrace when we're already paying council tax for it.
  17. Where is breeding taking place in LL bar? Am I missing something!? I noticed a lot of (sound) insulation piled up in the venue last night, so I'm guessing it's going in the bar/club direction, but that's a pretty loose guess. Apparently, Adventure Bar is not charging for entry on NYE and will have a last man standing policy!
  18. "lots of over-excited 20 somethings" lol Someone is showing their age!
  19. He's not bought the uk domain name for it yet... https://secure.uk2.net/cgi-bin/register/domains.pl?domain=www.bohobar.co.uk
  20. BoHo really does sound like a strip club. I really hope not - there are enough in the city. It would fail anyway. Personally, I'd love to see an Eclipse type place on LL (it works well in Wimbledon). We could do with something a bit more upbeat and open till late.
  21. Encourage them with fines I say. I'm still waiting for wheelie bins for recycling only. The small container can then be used for other waste, which if recycling properly should contain very little.
  22. Lol, I thought exactly the same thing! It was very glossy high-quality paper that it was printed on also.
  23. Keef - that's probably very wise decision making on your part.
  24. It's not yours until the mortgage is paid off though. Harsh, but true.
