Please help the campaign Fair Air for East Dulwich

Do you mean 60% of the total > residents of these roads are BAME and if not what > do you mean? > Can you explain where the social housing is in > these roads that add up to a ?high proportion?? It doesn't seem to say high proportion of social housing but rather high proportion BAME. I have no idea where the statement comes from but imagine if we can prove it impacts people disproportionately we might have more of a case. Personally I would stick to the LTN road closures causing problems - not only for the air and traffic on main roads but also the businesses for example on Melbourne Grove who are clearly suffering from a huge reduction in footfall. If anyone knows of any sites against LTNs I would be grateful if you could share - I agree the clean air campaigns tend to support LTNs despite what I would say obvious worsening of traffic on surrounding side and main roads, resulting in huge headaches for commuters, cyclists and pedestrians who use those alternative roads. Only those residents living on LTN roads seem to benefit (from increased house prices as well as cleaner air than the rest of us) so it is grossly unfair and I can't quite believe they have all been installed without any prior wider neighbourhood consultation (i.e. they only seem to have contacted the residents living on the affected roads who benefit so are likely to support road closures to cars and other vehicles). -
I wonder if these incidents are linked to the arrest of the Met officer suspected of exposure and possible murder in Brixton after woman's disappearance. So frightening.

My 7 year old just had a fantastic little zoom party with 4 friends (3 in London 1 in the Netherlands!) Run by Nimble Arts. I was wondering how it would go but Catherine made it SO much fun and my son enjoyed every minute - loads of activities, jokes along the way and den building. Awesome!! Highly recommended and very affordable. www.nimblearts.co.uk

Oh that is a relief! -
Hi - does anyone send their son to Trinity? I'd love some info so would appreciate a PM if you do. Thanks

1680 children? Yikes - with little outside space that is hard to imagine... Will look more like a cramped inner city school. Such a shame they couldn't have more of the space that is now used for the very large Tessa Jowell GP surgery car park. Does anyone know if the head teacher at East Dulwich Charter is leaving? Might be idle gossip but would like to know as considering accepting place there and would like to know.. Thanks!

Help do something positive in lockdown
Jellybeanz replied to Jellybeanz's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Almost at halfway point. Amazing! Thanks for your generosity. -
Amazing, thanks for sharing! I have noticed massive decrease in people out and about (aside from M&S food and post office queues which remain ridiculously long all day every day it seems). People also wearing masks outdoors must help too - and why not in this weather!?! Keep warm and wear a mask peeps :)

You should isolate as long as you have symptoms as the post above states. If you read more into it, guidance varies but if you have symptoms you can be contagious. I had covid over Christmas and still had symptoms well after 10 days, so ensured I isolated for longer and even once symptoms went I wore a mask when out just to be on the safe side. Scientists say behave as though you have the virus and I strongly believe masks should be compulsory outdoors like in other European countries, to help stop the spread.

dentist recommendation - anxious daughter
Jellybeanz replied to emmasomerton's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Our dentist at Dulwich Dental is lovely. The practice is just by the post office on Lordship lane. I'm sure she'd be fine there. Good luck! -
Nimble Arts at Goodrich primary school is wonderful. My sons have attended since they were 4 and were super well looked after. www.nimblearts.co.uk

Why not do something positive during lockdown and donate to life saving treatment for this young man in his early 20s who has a brain tumour and needs treatment not available on the NHS. If you would consider donating a small amount and sharing the link that would be amazing. Years ago I posted a link to help a boy with cystitis fibrosis have surgery in the US. He is now able to walk. https://www.gofundme.com/f/harrys-healing-fund

https://www.nimblearts.co.uk/virtual Highly recommended and a way of supporting a small business that has had ZERO help from the government since March 2020. Thanks everyone - spread the word!

Asymptomatic testing in southwark
Jellybeanz replied to spark67's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
My sons' school encouraged us to get tested before Christmas, whether we had symptoms or not. Definitely a good idea! -

All trees as they grow larger have greater root area. Therefore surely they all pose a subsidence risk unless far enough from a house? They simply aren't meant to be planted a few yards away from a house. Trees should be in large gardens or parks / woodlands... Not wishing to argue but I have heard countless stories about subsidence in this area.
