This is all about those on roads with LTN restrictions benefitting selfishly and councils profiteering from drivers not knowing about road changes and new restrictions. Everyone wants less pollution, it's a no brainer. BUT it must be done with community involvement and in a sensible and measured way. I don't see pollution sensors on Lordship Lane or through Dulwich village to monitor impact or additional pollution from more traffic on the main road. Nor do I see any monitoring of how buses are affected. Of course journeys by bus are now even more sluggish and congestion on main roads means anyone walking around, shopping and so on is subjected to even worse pollution. I really really hope the councils start to listen to their communities and stop putting money before lives under the guise of cleaner air and better health, as it is just a myth.
  2. Quite a tricky one as the holiday club probably lost money too. I would personally try and get them to extend the credit (in full) for a future holiday club that you CAN use - obviously pointless of them to offer something they cannot even give you, as it's booked up. Surely they should save a place for those who have lost out? You might want to point that fact out to them too. Hopefully you can find a compromise and get at least 50% voucher or refund back again. All the best!

I know they should have a taster day in school in July but something more informal, running around or lolling on a blanket in the park (inc for parents) would be nice I think :) I will post something again around the end of June so we can set a date...
  4. Hi there, I was wondering if anyone with a child starting Y7 at East Dulwich Charter in September would like to meet up.. I know they might do an induction day in July but how about a socially distanced picnic where the kids can get to know each other a bit before starting what is quite a big transition in the autumn. Perhaps a picnic in Peckham Rye park or Dulwich Park so lots of space to be safe in these times. Let me know, Thanks :)
  5. Crete is beautiful - so many different places to visit and you can always include 2-3 places if you're feeling adventurous as so easy to get around. Enjoy wherever you choose!
  6. Cora Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Definitely very poor signage. It is not just > people 'ignoring restrictions'. Totally agree. If you've driven a route for many years why would you be looking out for new signs? If you want to create a LTN block the road and stop large school coaches bussing in kids from all over to Alleyns not penalising local resident drivers. Totally scandalous. Who can afford ?65 just for a simple mistake. I also disagree with posts above claiming people who speed are same as those mistakenly driving in a road where new restrictions have been applied for who knows what reason. How is stopping drivers at certain times on Townley Rd helping decrease pollution? It's clearly nonsense and just a way of swindling drivers once again.
  7. How much is their commission? Thanks

Do you mean 60% of the total > residents of these roads are BAME and if not what > do you mean? > Can you explain where the social housing is in > these roads that add up to a ?high proportion?? It doesn't seem to say high proportion of social housing but rather high proportion BAME. I have no idea where the statement comes from but imagine if we can prove it impacts people disproportionately we might have more of a case. Personally I would stick to the LTN road closures causing problems - not only for the air and traffic on main roads but also the businesses for example on Melbourne Grove who are clearly suffering from a huge reduction in footfall. If anyone knows of any sites against LTNs I would be grateful if you could share - I agree the clean air campaigns tend to support LTNs despite what I would say obvious worsening of traffic on surrounding side and main roads, resulting in huge headaches for commuters, cyclists and pedestrians who use those alternative roads. Only those residents living on LTN roads seem to benefit (from increased house prices as well as cleaner air than the rest of us) so it is grossly unfair and I can't quite believe they have all been installed without any prior wider neighbourhood consultation (i.e. they only seem to have contacted the residents living on the affected roads who benefit so are likely to support road closures to cars and other vehicles).
  21. I wonder if these incidents are linked to the arrest of the Met officer suspected of exposure and possible murder in Brixton after woman's disappearance. So frightening.
  22. My 7 year old just had a fantastic little zoom party with 4 friends (3 in London 1 in the Netherlands!) Run by Nimble Arts. I was wondering how it would go but Catherine made it SO much fun and my son enjoyed every minute - loads of activities, jokes along the way and den building. Awesome!! Highly recommended and very affordable. www.nimblearts.co.uk
