Can anyone recommend a doctor for botox/fillers?
Jellybeanz replied to Tolly84's topic in The Lounge
Just don't do it. Save your money for something worthwhile -
Christ Church on Barry Rd near Dulwich Library end has a food bank collection just inside, or Albrighton centre on Dog Kennel Hill as mentioned above

Good morning everyone, I wanted to share a crowdfunder link - funds to go to Akif Mushtaq's family - https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/akif-mushtaq-rip---fundraising-for-his-family I have personally lived in the area for almost 25 years now and have known the brothers who run the dry cleaners for almost that long. As some of you may be aware, very tragically Akif - of East Dulwich Dry Cleaners (family business on Lordship Lane near the post office) - was horrifically killed by a dangerous dog a few weeks ago. https://southwarknews.co.uk/area/dulwich/dulwich-in-shock-after-owner-of-lovely-family-business-dies-in-tragic-dog-attack/ https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c7ve32ejqp1o It was a huge shock for me so I just cannot comprehend what his family are feeling right now. Akif had young children who will be left without a father. He was such a lovely man, always smiling and good humoured - joking about how good his wife's cooking was and how he had gained some weight. We always had a laugh and he was never in a bad mood whenever I popped in. As it was so sudden and shocking, I think the main thing that the family may need is financial help to get cover whilst they keep the business open but also take some time off to grieve. As a gesture of support I wanted to set up a Crowdfunder, so if anyone would like to donate it is here: Please spread the word to anyone who uses the business or who knows the Mushtaq family. Very best wishes

She probably had earphones in. Nobody cares about others any more that's the root issue. How do you get people to have more empathy and consideration? More of a major issue is cyclists consistently cycling fast through red lights at traffic lights. Usually lime bike cyclists.

Just to say I have friends with children in Y7 and Y10 at ED Charter and all happy on the whole. Their main gripe seems to be early start and finish times and not many after school activities but they say teaching and discipline are pretty good. My eldest attends a different school and I just wanted to agree with the comments above that school comms are far less at secondary age. Parents eve zoom calls are 5 mins per teacher so inadequate really but the teachers have so many students they can't give more time. We as parents also have to take responsibility for our children and take an active role.. I ask about homework, offer help and advice with revision techniques (which is much needed as then they feel more organised and in control, less anxious etc). Aside, in Y7 and 8 my son found a small wipe clean whiteboard with his timetable on it very helpful so would recommend! Hope this helps

Post Boris the Conservatives aimed to raise the number of police but having paid some to retire early and paid redundancy that must have been a huge waste of public money, only to U turn.. Anyway here's hoping for more and better community policing, especially at times when crime is higher such as just after school finishes. CCTV is a known deterrent. Police have mentioned that many times when we or neighbours and friends have been victims of crime. Even disguised criminals can be tracked that way.

Agree, plus always worth emailing local councillors if community police not helpful with offering advice and support.. tho my experience is community police are very understanding How did you find out? Police info? Robbers on bikes and scooters is rife everywhere in London sadly. My advice to my son is keep off your phone, be aware of your surroundings, stay around people and well lit roads as much as possible, and if anyone asks for phone or money hand it over without a struggle. My friend's son was mugged outside Finsbury Park station and it terrified him, robber had a knife and said he knew where be lived. Scary stuff. Near my work in the west end phone theft is rife too. Especially now certain metals are more scarce I imagine there's a real market in phones being sold on. Stay safe everyone and let's keep to practical solutions as building police presence back up will take years, so productive ideas such as more CCTV etc emailed to Ellie our local MP I feel would be far more constructive than posting critical political comments here.

This year, collections will run from 5th to 7th November at our tube stations; Kings Cross, Liverpool Street, Moorgate, Waterloo and London Bridge. Too many swimmers Dulwich Leisure centre

They now have strict numbers for swimming but some people seem to stroll in halfway through the session I assume without a booking so the pool gets so crowded especially with babies and kids that nobody can relax and swim. Staff don't care, including lifeguards.

Sometimes the app doesn't work as it should. Definitely still free. Try the Web version if still no luck as there are glitches with the app.

It's usually if your property is adjoining or very close to the property where work is being done. As others have stated, chimney breast removal and structural walls removal definitely require your consent and your neighbour will be responsible for paying your party wall surveyors fees. They probably don't want to pay additional money but that's the law so the law is on your side. It's a safeguard at the end of the day and if you want to quote the law at your neighbour to make them take responsibility I would get a solicitors letter (few hundred pounds but money well spent as property worth a lot and a lot can go wrong with building work so best to cover yourself). https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/preventing-and-resolving-disputes-in-relation-to-party-walls/the-party-wall-etc-act-1996-explanatory-booklet you may find useful
