Bishop was the Forester's Arms

good spot Spartacus - emerged in my timeline today and I should have checked the date

so here we are in 2025 many years after the referendum where import/exports costs are indeed much higher and (checks notes) arch Brexiteer is now lobbying for a European Commonwealth including Turkey Mad baby of a country https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/uk-wants-to-include-ukraine-in-european-commonwealth-report/2599081

Your post was an attack on the tax I didn’t address or mention you in my reply. Just pointed out the problems with the article you then told be I wasn’t invited. In no way am I bullying anyone. The reverse is true if anything

Do let me know when you understand how a public forum works in the meantime, apologies for inconvenient truths clogging up any ill-conceived “partying”

MSN is an aggregator. Not a news source the source is a Nick Gutteridge article in the Telegraph so, closer to reform than BBC (I would question BBC news reliability these days mind you) It would be difficult to describe gutteridge as objective. But it would be easy to claim he is frequently wrong, bordering on bonkers https://www.telegraph.co.uk/authors/n/nf-nj/nick-gutteridge/ There is no physical reality where, as we run out of fossil fuels and turn to whatever will replace them, where existing fossil fuels don’t become more expensive not this country, not any country - you might see some short term ups and downs as politics plays its part - but to whine about your political enemies tackling the dwindling fossil fuels is both childish and playing with people’s lives

Being scammed is horrible. So first of all, sympathies to you there but fair play for the details and the extra thought on subsequent posts and additional comments from others - genuinely helpful seeing a generic “I got done - be careful” is the kind of thing we all nod along with but think wouldn’t happen to us. But I feel these extra details would inform any potential future experience I might have and might save me money and hassle
-
all this to say, and staying on topic, that the sunlit uplands are never coming, they never existed and the liars and frauds who pushed this poison on the country are being found out But to watch even tiny slivers of engagement with the EU result in such weird, intemperate outbursts (have you SEEN the front pages of Mail/Express/Sun etc today?) show just how dysfunctional this country has become

So Boris Johnson goes on an unhinged rant about the deal using violent gimp imagery (an image repeated by other brexiteers), and I comment on it but it’s MY language you are policing? how come it’s not Johnson and his language you are commenting on?
-
That’s not how life works jazzer if you accuse anyone of anything you have to be able to back it up besides. I thought you were “done with me”. Yet here you sir plucking accusations out of the air but without any backbone or evidence

So no. It’s just vague hand-waving and accusation. And no ability to directly quote. standard mo

Which bit of my language is offensive and why? quote me

Seems a bit off. If two countries have a majority of dumbos why do we get to offload ours? Instead of us taking in theirs The corporation reports the whole thing as a soap opera with characters. Instead of reporting the actuality. bbc is as culpable as anyone in this whole shitshow

Update May 19: Jesus wept. The response to starmer’s negotiations today. Wartime “surrender”. Multiple “gimp” references. Much media wailing! tories (and presumably reform) promising to reverse ALL of the gains A deeply deeply stupid country When you are this chippy, this stupid, this bitter ”feels like we never left” yes sweetie, because you being in the eu was never the reason for your problems. But even now you are too dim to realise it https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2025/may/17/essex-thurrock-grays-views-brexit-eu-referendum?CMP=Share_iOSApp_Other

Indoor market in East Dulwich - Would you be interested?
Sephiroth replied to radnrach's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
one of my main worries if I was looking into this would be the bottom line rent and rates - they must be magnitudes higher than back then -

if you've lived in the area for 20 years you might remember the indoor market on Zenoria st - where Gail's is now? Different times and different demographics since then but I always got the impression that struggled at the time But as I say, it was 20 years ago so there might be an appetite now - best of luck -
Precisely DR it’s entirely understandable to conclude one is so disillusioned by Labour for Tories, it must be time for someone else That is an entirely reasonable position But if the next step is to then transfer your vote to a party full of charlatans, snake oil salespeople and racists? Then you stop being reasonable and start being thick and/or racist i understood why Tories took power in 2010. I feared it was an error but I wasn’t castigating people who voted for them tories (then, not now) and Labour are hamstrung not by civil service or EU but by a weird media and a weird voting system in an age of social media. The answers don’t seem to be coming from them yet but voting reform will only damage the country internationally and internally the Tories may yet regain power but are currently led by a madwoman, with a madman positioning himself to take over. Will take years for them to sort themselves out labour are making errors all over the shop but are at least in the ballpark of sane governanc. In no way should this give them a free pass but in 2025 there genuinely isn’t anyone better (and current polling for reform is meaningless - in any general election be it 4 years or 4 months their lack of accountability and standards will become all too clear)
