https://www.webmd.com/lung/news/20200310/know-the-symptoms-of-covid19 "The most detailed breakdown of symptoms of the disease comes from a recent World Health Organization analysis of more than 55,000 confirmed cases in China. Here are the most common symptoms and the percentage of people who had them: Fever: 88% Dry cough: 68% Fatigue: 38% Coughing up sputum, or thick phlegm, from the lungs: 33% Shortness of breath: 19% Bone or joint pain: 15% Sore throat: 14% Headache: 14% Chills: 11% Nausea or vomiting: 5% Stuffy nose: 5% Diarrhea: 4% Coughing up blood: 1% Swollen eyes: 1% The good news is that in China, most people who have gotten sick -- about 80% -- have had mild to moderate symptoms."

I thought this was useful:How do I know if I have coronavirus? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/health-51934576/how-do-i-know-if-i-have-coronavirus Also a colleague of mine has had it (a healthy chap). I will confirm that I know him and he had it, it's not a friend of a friend of a doctor in France etc. He said: "Here are things I noticed to date (hopefully I am at the end of it) 1) It spreads amazingly quickly, I can count 14 people in my family / friends that then had the exact same symptoms. 2) For all the people I know, it was a mild illness. Fever and slight cough. I have had worse flu a few times. 3) No extra toilet paper used 4) As advertised, thankfully, the kids only got a fever for a short period. 5) 5 of us have no sense of taste or smell at all now (not from a blocked nose) This is not to make light of the situation but to hopefully give some reassurance that, for the majority, this will be the illness."

That's a good point, I had forgotten about that page. I'll try and update it in the next week or two. Thanks for the nudge!

ED - ?100 for a kids birthday cake? REALLY?

Angelina Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- ... > I was going to go local but not now Really? FreyaMikaelson - if you have a small child you need a buggy, trolling with the "mummy" and "buggy" insults is a bit old now. Interestingly the buggy was first lampooned on the forum in 2006 /forum/read.php?5,525,554#msg-554 -

Burgled last night (31st May 2019)
Mark replied to twinhunters's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Hang on, put your pitchforks down. The guy on the right was breaking in, the guy on the left was "acting suspiciously" and selling cleaning things. The connection, they're both grainy photos of slim white males wearing a cap. It might be the same person and I agree be vigilant but to me they look different. -
Abe_froeman, mailchimp is simply the system used to send email, it's nothing sinister. It's similar to saying letters are passed to Royal Mail "for processing".

Everyone has biases and they're not all bad, you don't have to "suffer" from them. I wanted to give people the full picture so they can make their own mind up. I don't really care what your biases are as long as they're not hurtful, discriminatory, inflammatory etc but it sounds like you're after a fight, I'm not.

Here is Danny Baker's statement, I think it's best read in full rather than bits of it being pulled out to sway biased points of view: "I chose the wrong photo to illustrate a joke. Disastrously so. "In attempting to lampoon privilege and the news cycle I went to a file of goofy pictures and saw the chimp dressed as a Lord and thought, 'That's the one!' Had I kept searching I might have chosen General Tom Thumb or even a a baby in a crown. But I didn't. God knows I wish had. "Minutes later I was alerted by followers that this royal baby was of course mixed race and waves of panic and revulsion washed over me... What had I done? "I needed no lessons on the centuries slurs equating simians and people of colour. Racism at it's basest. "But it was a genuine, naive and catastrophic mistake. There is of course little media/twitter traction in such a straight-forward explanation. The picture in context as presented was obviously shamefully racist. It was never intended so - seriously who on earth would 'go there'?" He added: "Anyway I am now paying the price for this crass and regrettable blunder and rightly so. Probably even this final word from me will extend the mania. ('Dog whistle' anyone?) I would like to thank friends on here for their kinder words and once again - I am so, so sorry." Edited to Add: After reflecting on his comments the day before, Baker added: "I would like once and for all to apologise to every single person who, quite naturally, took the awful connection at face value. "I understand that and all of the clamour and opprobrium I have faced since. I am not feeling sorry for myself. I [messed] up. Badly. "I am aware black people do not need a white man to tell them this. Deleting it immediately and apologising for the awful gaffe I even foolishly tried to make light of it. (My situation that is, not the racism involved.) Too late and here I am." https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-48226247

Where can you hand in lost property now we have no police station?
Mark replied to HRB2's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I lost a car key recently and when you go through the online reporting system you get: "- The item I lost in a public place is worth less than ?500 or can't be directly identified as mine - Unfortunately, we don?t accept these kinds of items if someone tries to hand them in. This includes luggage, empty purses, empty wallets or low-value, unidentifiable items such as umbrellas, glasses or perishable goods. We recommend retracing your steps and making your own enquiries in the area." I have to say I was flabbergasted, I mean, you can't even ask the police if someone has handed in some lost property. Mental. Needless to say having made my own enquiries I never found the car key. -
Yes, I cannot tell a lie, it was me. Please send me a PM but I'm particularly rubbish at getting back to people. ps I'd look at something other than Phorum for forum software, it's not moved on much and there's newer, better ones out there.

East Dulwich "Me & ED" Photo Competiton - The Winners
Mark replied to eastDAG's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
"Any fool can criticize, condemn and complain ? and most fools do" If you slag them off enough then you'll put others off... "I'm not even going to try that good/fun/community thing in East Dulwich, I remember some people tried to do something a bit creative and community minded once and they got shot down on that forum. I'm going to take the safe options and watch Strictly Love Jungle repeats instead". Seriously though I hope most people can see through the spitefulness hurled at the organisers of a local photo competition for what it is, a bit like shooting fish in a barrel. I think they tried, they succeeded but it was a bit bumpy along the way and I'm sure (I hope) they'll do it again with a few improved tweaks. -

Wow, that's really unpleasant and vitriolic dbboy. Personally I think it's good that something creative like this has been tried and done, hopefully there will be more things like it.The first time's never going to be perfect but spitting nails at them and saying don't repeat it again makes it sound like they tried to organise a far-right march. eastDAG, thanks for trying, I know what it's like to herd cats and get shit done whilst real life gets in way sometimes. By the way I think the judges sound like a good mix. -
We had the fire service come round ours and they installed the Fire Angel ST-750 https://www.fireangel.co.uk/products/st-750. You can't get any easier to install than that. Most of the battery operated ones are all pretty similar to install: find a joist in the ceiling in an appropriate place, screw the smoke alarm's base plate to it, attach smoke alarm and test. In the first instance simply go back to the shop with the product and explain the situation and you'll probably find it'll be resolved there and then.

Recommendations pls - family holidays in Croatia
Mark replied to roic's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Did you go anywhere you'd recommend? If anyone else has any recommendations for somewhere in Croatia mid-September for a week with an almost 2 year old, I'd love to hear them. By the lakes, or beaches, we don't mind... Thanks in advance. -
Parent & baby spaces at Sainsburys ED
Mark replied to worldwiser's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
It's not just about the distance and being "fit", you need to open doors wider to get children out of car seats and reduce the risk of them running in front of moving cars by being closer to the storefront. -
On for the financial guys and gals... Company is offering warrants at 1.5 euros, exercise price is 15 euros for 50% in 3rd year and 50% in 4th year. How to you begin to weigh up of they're worth it?

It's not the end of the world and it depends how much you want the property. If it'll cost you a ?1,000 to sort it out do you still want the property? However I see no reason why you can't ask the vendor to finish paying for the completion of the treatment. If it takes on average 2 or 3 seasons to eradicate it, ask the company how much that will cost and get that taken off the house price, or ask the vendor to pay the company and show you the receipt. The legal situation taken from https://www.rhs.org.uk/advice/profile?pid=218 Buying and selling property Since 2013, the seller is required to state whether Japanese knotweed (Fallopia japonica) is present on their property through a TA6 form - the property information form used for conveyancing. Your conveyancer or solicitor will be able to provide full legal advice, however, here is a summary: If you are buying, the presence of Japanese knotweed will be stated in the responses to the TA6 form. This often results in your mortgage lender requiring assurances that it will be eradicated before agreeing the funds. A management plan by a professional eradication company, backed by a transferable guarantee, is usually sufficient. It is most common for this plan to be provided by the seller before the purchase is completed Def. have a read of that article.
