  2. Cornwall might also drop off. And then maybe Spalding and Swaffham. Perhaps all of England will fall away from London, leaving the area inside the M25 as a kind of walled-off citadel ruling over our future island without any postive connection or mutual exchange. Or has that already happened?

  8. Flies do have six legs though so I guess it's one leg at a time. We might get a couple of wings from Lizzy as well. Hold tight.
  9. KK, you are right to challenge - it can be awkward and embarrassing but worth making the point - and you are brave, too. Any reactions from people who are challenged (by non-authority figures, fellow customers or passengers, people who aren't the proprietors, or even those who are duty bound or more apparently suitable to enforce face coverings, etc.) cannot always be accurately anticipated. Remember that people were spitting at bus drivers pre-Covid and it's still happening... If someone volunteers to move away, however, then you should probably say 'yes please' and thank them as they do so, maybe with a thumbs up.

  11. You're not in the wrong. It could also be worse. Why not ask your co-freeholders about adding extra sound-proofing. They'd likely cooperate if the issue's as bad as you say. If the actual build is also enjoying the tumbling then maybe it's time for the tenants to move on. Rather odd that 7pm is kick off time... even with current situation affecting our daily schedules.

  13. All I know is that I'm not on the list. Yet. Isn't what's administered dependent on who/how/where you are?

  18. Here now KK, listening to Woman's Hour. Mask adherence not too bad circa 50%

  21. Bought a property much closer to the river near Burgess Park several years ago - flood plain flagged by solicitors and consensus that any threat's existence and risk/prognosis was negligible. No insurance or mortgage issues. Re-sale without issue.
  22. Contest it (unless you have parked in a very silly position and/or for an unreasonable term relative to the location). If you contest unsuccessfully then pay up quickly. Massively annoying experience to many of us stopping for a couple of minutes on an errand/appointment/actually helping someone in need... when we see more serious civil breaches and crimes committed daily and without impunity?
  23. Kandahar is nice. Transport links a little underwhelming but lots of lovely independent boutique shops. Amazing events on at the soccer stadium too. Schools are fantastic.
