  1. Like Christianity, Islam comes from Judaism. Read the Koran and it?s abundantly evident that Islam is nothing more than a scam to decimate the former Arabs? paganism (Mohammed was a pagan before he sold out to monotheism) and mobilise an Arab army against the Christians who were in dispute with the Jews on the Eastern side of the Red Sea at the time. Lost your husband in the conflict? Then marry someone else?s? Islam means submission and that?s it in a nutshell. The centuries old glory days of its inclusive, colourful and rich culture when philosophy, art and science were celebrated were never its original aim. And for all the arguments based on being moderate (as if genital mutilation of children or the enforced worship of an invisible, false and hateful god are moderate ? that?s beyond extreme!) please remember that Islam needs the ?moderates? to help breed more soldiers. Islam is a system designed to enslave its followers, and destroy its opponents either though direct action or breeding. Holding vigils and lighting up European monuments with the colours of flags won?t help.

That's ok - you're right, not being a pedant :-) Of course they should wait for the red light, it's just that the red light doesn't need to be red.
  3. On a bike you can easily clock 40 mph with or without a green light at the bottom of the hill, and that's without even pedalling - depending on your bike of course. Buses can do what they want and cars are continually subject to queuing for no reason with engines running. All types of vehicles then brake like crazy (even some bikes) when the lights go red after the bridge. It's a stupid f!!ckin' system for everyone.
  4. Sonic plugs do indeed repel them. Depending on the size and shape of your property and the broader building you might need more than one though, as a single alarm can simply drive them to one end of the layout. They hate the sound so much it can effectively corner them so that they starve to death and then stink as they rot under the floor, or wherever they are. Don't forget once the plugs are switched off mice can come back - especially if there are crumbs or other free food about. So if you do buy sonic repellent(s) you should keep them on for a few days, and then turn them on again regularly for short intervals. Also remember that sonics generally just make the mice someone else's problem whilst they go elsewhere so you might consider traps as well - though traps are just that, they are not a repellent. And if a cat's on the cards...

  6. I saw the bike too and have to say I'm surprised he didn't sustain further injuries. Given where the bike and truck were at the junction after the accident also seems strange that it happened at all. The junction is small for a truck of that size and so the truck must've swung out to the right a little in order to make a left hand turn which might have given the cyclist some advance warning of potential collision. But if the truck didn't need to make such a wide turn it probably would have been going quite slowly anyway as it looked pretty tight. Glad to hear he survived. I recently hit a cyclist in my car - thought I'd killed the guy but fortunately he was ok. Didn't see him COMING TOWARDS ME and we collided head on. Seems my previous attention wasn't 100% after all...

  9. I voted Leave but I still admire Hayes for her defiance, even though she must've known it'd be a losing vote. She had the conviction and guts to vote the way she did, and should be credited for not wimping out in abstinence.
  10. Isn't the busy nature of Camberwell Grove partly to do with the restrictive one-way system at the bottom of Grove Lane? I've always thought it odd not to be able (at least) to turn left off Camberwell Church Street up Grove Lane and then pass the Morrison's carpark to get to Coldharbour Lane. You have to bottle-neck it to Camberwell Green, then turn left, left again and then right. Same problems coming back from Denmark Hill. But what's really crazy is not being able to turn right coming from Camberwell New Road up Denmark Hill - you then have to pass Grove Lane and turn right up Camberwell Grove to get south, unless you can go further over to Peckham or do a U-ey and go back up Denmark Hill...
  11. Mental. Queues going back to Peckham Road last night. Some parking suspensions close to the 3 way control might've been a good idea...
  12. Same problems here. Took from 8th June till 15th August, several long-winded and fruitless phone calls dealing with ill-equipped and incompetent staff who appeared to change daily, and an email thread involving a mighty 29 exchanges, to get just one order through. Southwark were very good though. They gave me my ?16 back - which took them only six weeks!
  13. Yes they do. Take some ID to show you're a Southwark resident otherwise they may turn you away. (This is to stop businesses, opportunists and people from outside the area using the service for free.)

We wait here numerous times everyday along with hundreds of other road users, needlessly queuing with our engines running whilst invisible and silent buses go past. I still think it's down to the trigger pad just up the road. Please fix!
  15. The child might be attending Lyndhurst School on Grove Lane. I have made the school aware of this.
  16. Yesterday my wife, daughter and I came home from holiday to find a man in our front courtyard - on our premises yet in view from the street. He was trying to hide himself away but not doing a great job of it. Well, it can come as a bit of a shock to find someone on your property when you return from a trip. To make matters a lot worse, he was also injecting himself. We addressed him, kept close to him (but not too close, of course) and he soon left. He was out of his mind of course. This is in a road very close to Lucas Gardens. Police were advised of course. Pretty scary stuff - particularly with young children around. (Addicts will often use lemons/citrus juice to clean their equipment. So if you see evidence of this lying around in bushes or in alleys then take care. The addict on our property left spent lemon behind but took his syringe, etc. with him.)
