i couldn't agree more about north london, i am a born and bread south londoner, i was simply commenting on the truely ridiculous prices north of the river.

a good place to live, yes, but please, posh is chelsea, knightsbrigde, richmond, generally anywhere north of the river. don't run away with yourselves here, it's still south east london...thank goodness. i know deluded people in the norf who pay the same as a 2 bedder here for a postage stamp on the 3rd floor.

as part of the miseducation of my children currently hot faves are: james brown (name gives that away), old tribe called quest & de la soul, david bowie, the beatles, marlena shaw, roy ayers ... the list goes on longer than my ipod battery lasts... no doubt criticism will be leveled that there is nothing new on the list but whenever i turn the radio on i just want to turn it off, plus the kids just love that funky drummer. p.s. radio nova in france (get live stream on line) pisses all over anything here and they don't speak too much french on it.

since having children i have become a classic 'mum' for example recently encountering a mobile phone that i didn't know how to use to make a call. so when i clicked on this thread i genuinely thought that one of the arcades had suffered a fire in brixton. i hope one day to keep up with the kids again...

no to the bodyshop, it was the kind of awful place that in the 80's people bought you smelly things to put in the bath. yes to carluccios, the kind of great place that not only sells olives but could take icelands' spot on LL nicely
