  1. I blame the tories and the lib dems ffs. Never had riots or extreme traffic calming measures under Blair!
  2. Any idea how I can get my hands on a pirate outfit for my 4 year old? I've been looking online and they are a bit thin on the ground. I need it for Thursday as it's 'pirate day' at nursery! Any ideas much appreciated.
  3. As a redhead myself I can recommend Sanctuary Mande lunar Body souffle. It's got camomine lotion in it and it does work a treat even though its not advertised for this purpose.
  4. It was roughly between 3 -6am. And it happened while they slept. Horrible.
  5. Well thanks ladies. I have since ordered a mam bottle and a friend of a friend able to lend me some playtex ones. And you're right Daisydoo - 4 months will be around in no time. Thanks again. This has all been very helpful 
  6. Hi all - it is with much desperation that I write this. My 8 week-old is having none of the bottle. She is an excellent breast feeder and seems adamant that this will be her only source of fodder. I like a good girl, waited til b/feeding was established til I started to express as I really wanted her and dad to be able to have a nice cuddle of an evening. Plus I now want to bs able to do such fancy things as get a hair cut safe in the knowledge that she is not howling with hunger at home. The annoying thing us that the first few bottles she accepted gladly. Then it all went downhill and now she howls with anger and spits the milk out. It's bloody awful to be honest. With my first baby I wasnt able to feed for long and stopped when he was 5 weeks old. I've really loved feeding her and have felt proud of myself for sticking to it especially as she is a lovely big girl. Those fat chubby legs were created by me! It's an ace feeling. And maybe I need to accept that it's nor for long and just to give up on it. I would just really love a break of only a few hours sometimes. My hubby is a hands on dad and happy to do a night of feeds but it's just nor gonna happen. I did get a full bottle down her in the afternoon last week and it was when she was pretty happy and I thought we had turned a corner! Aaaaahhhhhh - so frustrating. Ive tried breast flow bottles but want to stick to Tommee Tippees for convenience. Anyway! Any advice much appreciated forumites!
  7. Hey there, just wondering if anyone knows if Breastflow bottles are any good? My ebf baby not having much joy with a Tommee Tippee. Just want her to be able to take a bottle should i god forbid, wish to have a few drinks! Would love my Hubble to be able to give her a bottle as part of a routine in the future too. Any info much appreciated x
  8. I second fueteventura - we had a brilliant week there last March with our then 2-year old. Really child friendly and a lovely vibe. We booked through Thomas Cook for Costa Coletta and got an all inclusive ridiculously cheap. Yes it was a resort and a wee bit cheesy but there was loads of families there and I would go back in a heartbeat.
  9. Wow! What a reassuring thread! Thought I was oh so alone with this!
  10. Loved it. Am 30 weeks gone with second child so I am under no illusion as to what lies around the corner. It was probably this that made me able to laugh at Steph the Screamer, rather than curl up in fear! It was really uplifting and I cant wait for next weeks already. All praise to Channel 4 for a good old fashioned documentary format. I will treasure each episode :))
  11. Im starting pregnancy pilates at Push Studios on Thursday night at 7pm - ?10 a session which is a bit steep but Im 30 weeks pregnant now so dont foresee me doing it for too long! Will let you know if its any good x
  12. Well I had the jab and I've felt fine and I'm really glad that I had it. I had it on thursday and felt a little bit ropey on Friday night, but as I'm 27 weeks it could equally be down to this. I have a bruise on my arm where the jab was but this is it. Thanks for comments they really helped to make my mind up x
  13. Thanks - Ive booked myself in to get it this afternoon. I never get ill - like never - which is why I didnt really think it would be necessary. Some horror stories out there though and that link on mumsnet was really helpful thanks Alieh!
  14. Apologies if this has already been mentioned - I have done a search and couldnt find anything. I was just wondering what anyone thinks about getting the flu jab in pregnancy? My mother and MIL keep harping on that I should get this, fuelled by the Daily Mail - but my midwife was very non-commital about it all and said that the choice was mine. I never even get colds and am concerned that the jab itself will make me poorly. Any comments much appreciated... Thanks, Charlotte
  15. Dulwich Medial Centre would be my recommendation. They always seem to be able to see my 3-yr-old that day and you see a doctor not a nurse (sorry - still nursing emotional scars from Melbourne Grove - thank god we left) - and they are so thorough and seem to genuinely care. Nothing but impressive.
  16. Hey there - does anyone know of any panto productions that are taking place locally?
  17. Maybe we should talk to each other before posting on the forum eh?! Ha ha! The Wife x
  18. I have just cleared out my attic of three bin bags full of baby boys clothes. I want to donate them to a charity that won't sell them on and make money from them. Any ideas anyone?
  19. Hello all, I've just been offered a nursery place at Dog Kennel Hill nursery. Starting in March just before my next baby comes along. Its just up the road from me and I know people who have their kids in the school and are really pleased with it. Any ideas what the nursery is like? I've also handed in my application for Amott Road which comes with good recommendations. Any info greatly appreciated :) Charlotte
  20. I went for my taster session at Diddidance and it was absolutely brilliant. Anne-Marie is fantastic with the kids and my little boy took to it right away. He got a bit shy towards the end but all the other kids who had obviously been going were engrossed. The only thing is that its at 2pm which can be a stretch with the afternoon nap. I can see us fast becoming regulars :)
  21. This is such a helpful thread. Thanks everyone. Its good to know that there will come a time when my LO is ready and that he will let me know. I feel as though I am forcing it at the moment, even though he fully understands what I am trying to do. I have a starchart and everytime he sits on the loo he gets a sticker - but its running out of steam to be honest after only 4 days! I will keep gently talking about it and wait til he shows some more signs of being up for it. Thanks again x
  22. Yeah I was told that and that's what we now do. Just a wee bit obviously. I was told that it was also cos tooth decay on the rise and baby toothpaste not strong enough.
