  1. I would ask that you walk up the road from the "village" to Grove Park on the pavement opposite , then on the house side and look. A picture is worth a 1000 words.
  2. If people are worried about gentrification and the up and downside it brings perhaps pressure could be brought to bear on Southwark Council to renovate properties they own. This would make the area better for all A classic example is Chadwick Road from ?Bellenden Village? to Grove Park. Home owners there are defeated in their efforts to make the area acceptable because Southwark does not look after its properties and never have done. New/old owners who renovated their properties are surrounded by dross on the street. It is amazing that grants were given to all, including ?Bellenden Village? and surrounding streets but not Chadwick Road which has been left. However Grove Park which follows on is looked after very well as is Camberwell Grove and Grove Lane I have been here 47 years and have seen the Council bigging up some areas/streets to the determent of others. If the Council wont do anything don?t knock others that come in and do.
  3. People who want a better tomorrow and not the concrete block that is there now. Open plaza not a block house to the past. Or we could just leave the mess that is there now
  4. How many other people walking normally on a pavement for pedestrians have been hit by cars moving outwards on this exit road? From this estate since it has been built? From the earlier attached picture of the pavement the cyclist must have been going at a speed that he could not stop If your child had been hit by one of these people and hurt or scarred for life it would be interesting to hear if some of the comments would stay the same
  5. Is it not time that Cllr Barber made some sort of comment? He was contacting Southwark Officers on 12th August regarding this Would make commenting more sensible if it was known what this is all about
  6. They have 10 days and then a holding response if they cannot be bothered.
  7. They probably don't need to get public approval but if they go ahead with what ever they have in mind they can always say we held a public survey/consultation and taking it to the extreme if only one person wants a dog free park they can say we are implementing what the public want. Rather like CPZ put up a notice somewhere, a few yes's and there it is done and dusted. How may people look at notice boards when they go to the park or trawl the Southwark website for such information for fun Consultations always imply the plan is on the drawing board to be nodded thru Again what complaints triggered this survey what happens in other parks may not effect Dulwich Park What is needed is park staff to enforce the rules but are any Southwark still employed
  8. Well said a sensible and balanced point of few. It would be interesting for Cllr Barber to inform us just how many incidence re dogs have taken place , say for the last year in Dulwich Park. A Cllrs enquiry to Head of Service might show if any change is required for Duwich Park. All reports must have been noted and a reference number isssued. Do i expect Southwark to produce this...No
  9. Cllr Barber has been very quiet on this matter perhaps he might like to comment. In the real world all that is required is for dog owners to look out for their dogs and others to accept that dogs can use parks. Posted by elloriac Yesterday, 10:28PM Hi JS33, I wouldn't use a dog only area as my dog doesn't like other dogs - not in an aggressive way, but he is a solitary animal and just likes having his walk around the park and sniffing at whatever gets his interest. He wouldn't enjoy being in an enclosed area where he was unable to get away. Dogs have different characters and different histories that colour their reactions to situations, same as people, we don't all like the same things :-) (not meaning to sound patronising, but realise it reads that way a bit, sorry!) A very sensible comment
  10. I have used dulwich park since a child when it had dogs, cars and people all using the same space. It does seem that the new status ed has given it self wants to mould the area into a sterile protected enclave. There are no more dogs now than the past. All that has increased is the i want change chant from various sections of the new in take. Dogs and people co exist together. People need to evaluate what this so called new risk really is, parents over protection perhaps As a dog owner poo should always be picked up As most people wont react to this southwark survey the few will push thru what they want . The park should be open to all
  11. If you are thinking of buying ex local authority flats take a deep breath until the madness passes You will always be facing increasing increasing bills, flats on estates will always cost re block costs or estate costs Better to look for ex council freehold properties not on council estates to avoid estate costs You will never be incontrol
  12. The last post from LD just about sums it up. Hope you do get caught.
  13. If pedestrians refused to let you pass whilst you were using the pavement would you use the road again? How does it work
  14. Objections, like we must save the concrete arcade. There will be objections about other surrounding bits that will cause certain small sections to campaign to stop the plan in its current form. Lets apply to English Heritage to get it listed will be the cry Unfortunately the vast majority of residents will do very little if they even know about this and the battle will be fought out between small groups pushing their own pet plan I hope I am wrong
  15. Lady deliah and omz really know how to advance the cause for cyclists. I will do what ever i want. S.d the rest of you
  16. Out of interest do you have insurance to cover any injury you might cause to pedestrians should you hit them?
  17. If one looks at the planning application shown on Eileens attachment. http://www.peckhamvision.org looking to save a bleak concrete shopping arcade will destroy the whole plan to open the area up. All the front and sides should come done to produce a open and airy feel. Suspect this possible plan will take far longer to get agreed if at all. Shame
  18. Why save it. Think for the future. Perhaps save the hair and rubbish as well.
  19. How much imagination does it take to picture the whole area completely redeveloped with the station as the centre
  20. As a local resident of 68 years i am fed up with living in a sh..t hole. That whole area is a dump. How many residents can remember dunns the outfitters on that entrance. When rye lane was something to be proud of. Walk down rye lane and station entrance early morning before it all gets busy and see how rank the pavements are and the fifth that is engrained everywhere. There is nothing to save. Start from new
  21. The whole lot needs to come down the or area will always wallow in the mess and filth that is now there. Lets hope they dont find a rare newt or nesting bats. Open it all up from Rye Lane to Bellenden Road. This will go on forever
  22. 3156 views and no sighting. ED has its on Bermuda Triangle. Perhaps a meeting of Cobra should be called to discuss this worrying situation.
  23. Did you manage to locate the driver? Interested to know if an all points bolo worked on the forum. Would be interesting to know for the future.
