As the building cost Southwarwark residents ? 75 million one would hope so. From my recollection of going go this building as there are no public meeting rooms apart from the vestibule open to all traffic you always had to arrange Times before hand to meet officers and can not just walk in off the street and discuss matters So it does make sense to in inform those close to the site because of the interestso as to allow theme to make necessary plans and not have to rely on the forum for information to meeting times Done and dusted comes to mind.

Knowing in most cases people cannot or will not try to go to Tooley Street/Tower Bridge they can pass what ever new idea they come up with knowing there will be no little opposition not only for this but other plans Why not hold it at the Community Council Meetings locally. Council Staff can rest easy. No difficult questions to answer Old Planning debates at the Peckham Road site were always very well attended.

  13. The bad news is the builder and their air-handling system hasnt worked properly since installation. It's too damn hot for classes etc. That their contract meant it could only be fixed by them else any other supplier fixing it would be totally at the councils expense and nullify the contract. Finally after 3 1/2 years the council has agreement from the builder to come and fix it. No specific time has yet been agreed but when I know I will share that information here. Wby has it taken so long? After it was installed and the snagging process took place why was it not fixed and continued to be fixed? Did Southwark claim compensation or consider legal action?

Not to undermine your right to opinion but to bring to your attention that there are others who find that Iceland is an important port of call for provisions. As you get older you actually might find these people exist and live in ED and do not have the expediture to frequent the kind of store you are desperate to transplant in. "Those pesky older folk eh, always in the way of bright young things.... Soylent Green appearing on local menus soon." Unable to accept change, I would have thought they have accepted more change in their lifetimes than you or I and moved forward and will not be broken by a loss of a shop. Plently disappeared in their lifetimes sometimes over night I can afford to shop where ever my fancy takes me but I am aware of others and find it amusing that these shops have to be there to prop up the current overpriced house purchases and I would imagine a source of worry in some quarters to fund them without renting out rooms. When interest rates go up the curtain will be lifted. Hi ho off to the pound shop. No hangups, life is grand

Don't travellers usually turn up just before a Bank Holiday when the Council is just about to shut down. If it's not a legal site move them on before they become entrenched and the Council starts running around in circles. IF you feel strongly they can rock up wherever they please why not help residents who have to put up with this by offering the travellers your garden or drive. Not a good idea, thought not.
