I just wanted to say that everything in ED is nice and the shops are lovely. (especially of the variety which sell real ale, or pork pies, fresh bread or fish.)

On the grounds of cost vs academic ability. A bit weird maybe, but rather some than go than none? You assume that if you canpay 15 grand a year for 1 kid, you can also pay 60 grand a year for 4. unrealistic.

Brilliant first post. Re the area going down hill i guess that depends on which way you are looking at LL from. Say if you look from WR to Barclays, i can see youre point of view, but if you look from EDT to Nero, i ccan see the opposite..

looking at a number of the posts (or elemsnts of threads)recently i wonder if people are infact making them up just to amuse themselves. for example, one about a lothario/free wifi, one from an angry transport worker, one from a person angry with cars parked on the street for a fewdays. Does anyone else get the feeling there are spurious posts going on more than occasionally??? strange indeed

above arguements accepted, BUT, i find myself crossing dangerously to Somerfield at least once per week and i think most could say the same. I do not walk to iceland crossing as that would involve crossing north cross road (no pedestrian crossing) anyway thus no point walking to existing crossing. i think it depends how much it will afeect local traders.

PGC - you describe my neighbour! i had to threaten them with a 5000? fine from the council in the end. He is beyond any doubt the most selfish person i have EVER come across. If / when he moves back in im sure it will be a suitably horrible place to live for him... grrr (yes i tried to reason with the idiot but couldnt find a brain cell after 3 separate attempts of having the door slammed in my face..)
