  2. I wouldn't mind but I look nothing like Bill Nighy or Melvyn Hayes.
  3. Steveo, whatever gave you that idea?

    a joke

I went to a casino last night and was stood next to a guy playing Blackjack who kept having win after win after win. I couldn't believe his luck, then saw he was stood on what looked like a bit of bread. I asked him, "Mate, what's that under your shoe?" He said. "Shhh! I'm on a roll."

Good grief! *Bob* I know you. You're the guy I give my small change to.
  6. I think the Billy Mac character in Love Actually is the comparison that Quids referred to before on here. Bill Nighy was the best thing in it.

  10. I quite like Kaboul, he did make some awful defensive blunders whilst at Spurs in his first season in English football but the game is a lot different than in France and takes some getting used to. He's improved since going to Portsmouth and as a young player still has more to learn. You don't get to be the France Under-21 captain if you aren't any good. What does look to be a good deal though in the short term is the arrival on loan from Monaco of Eidur Gudjohnsen. He is top quality who can play in the midfield or up front as a centre-forward or just behind the main striker. It'll give Spurs plenty of more options going forward as I think Crouch, as good as he is at what he does is a little limited in his movement. Surely the end for Pavlyuchenko though. As for Robinho - what a waste of money. He was already struggling to get into the first team at Real Madrid before Man City amazingly paid ?32m for him. He's got to be one of the laziest most selfish players ever. All that skill going to waste. Shame on him because he's let himself down more than anything.

  14. Against the Spurs? I certainly hope not.
  15. SCSB79 I think we may have met. Didn't we have a conversation about Hutton in the bar of the CPT a month or so back? Hutton's very quick and as Jimmy said very good going forward. He's had very nasty injury and was out a long time. I like him a lot and rate him highly but if his attitude is bad and Harry doesn't fancy him then his attitude has to change. I think he's played quite well in the last couple of games before last night. He has chance because Corluka does look a little slow and ponderous at times but he's probably more dependable defensively than Hutton.

  17. Bale's still only 20 and I agree that he has a lot to learn but he is starting to look the part now. As for Assou-Ekotto you have to say that he is a far better player than he was before Harry turned up.
  18. I was at White Hart Lane last night and the good news is Gareth Bale is finally coming of age. He's been fantastic since replacing the injured Assou-Ekotto at left-back. Strangely, it was the first time he'd started and finished a Premier League game with us on the winning side after three years at the club. His pace as an overlapping full-back and great crossing ability have been for all to see and has seized his chance with great aplomb. Also, Harry Redknapp's a canny fecker. He restored David Bentley to the first team shop window last night and for once he turned in a very good performance. If anyone has a spare ?15 million to spare they can have him. And in Luca Modric we have a little magician. He was fantastic last night and turned in a man-of-the-match performance. Fulham, it must be said were poor.
  19. What Jimmy said. Rooney is a fantastic player. No question.

    Thoughts on 40

Absolutely nothing to worry about. You're just another day older. I was up for three days and nights celebrating my 40th. And, by the way 50 is the new 30.
