  1. "They've been handing out info leaflets morning and nights for at least a week!" - Unlurked, yes they had, and then on Friday they cancelled the trains they had carfeully pointed out were still running so half the leaflet was a waste of time. Today was my first time coming into the new platform 15, it was very narrow and took ages to get out. Lets hope it grows when the works get further on as 10 mins getting out of the station everyday is not fun.
  2. What a shambles Friday was, they had people all week giving out leafelts stating the reduced service adn providing the only trains times on Friday afternoon then during the day cancelled the ones that they said were running !!! Another problem this morning meant I got the bus in, does anyone know of this was related to the weekend works and will the trains be runinng tonight ? No updates on National Rail site since this morning.
  3. I went here for the first time last time last night and really enjoyed the food. There was a great selection of beers too, the bar staff were very friendly and we had good banter. I will probably be there on Sunday too now !!!!
  4. Thanks both for the info and the offer, unfortunately the trip is for sad reasons but hopefully can get details printed this afternoon. Thanks again
  5. What is the nearest internet cafe with a printer to East Dulwich, my girlfriend has had to book a flight today for tomorrow morning and needs to print the Boarding pass etc...
  6. Fujiyama is great, I also got charged an extra ?3 on Sunday as we were over 3 miles, apparently it has always been their policy but I have never been charged it in six years of using them. I would still use them though as not aware anywhere else that delivers.
  7. Underhill Road was gritted last week, not sure why it hasn't been sine then as half of it blows away. A serious lack of gritting going on at the moment which is concerning !
  8. The one on East Dulwich Grove by Melbourne Grove is a joke, drivers hardly ever stopped and I have near;y been hit half a dozen times.
  9. Definitely is what they were filming, I recognised the hous straight away in the Freeview advert.
  10. Train to London Bridge tube to Moorgate and walking to Liverpool St is the easiest. Avoid Jubilee line and Bus route in Central london.
  11. Can I just point out I read the 90k including was the average in the City i.e Square mile of Financial district. When I read this my jaw did drop as of the people I know who work in the city their average is a lot less than that but despite the economic times there are still a lot of people who work in hedge funds, commodity traders, oil traders ect .... who get still paid vast sickening bonuses. They are big outlyers in the stats but do put the average up a hell of a lot hence the 90k. Houses in ED do price out any couples on less than min 150k joint income, but like people say when you have kids and wages are less then it could be tough and I know I don't want to be a slave to the mortgage and have the odd holiday. Maybe the only way I will afford a house is if I move to Darlington, Carlisle, Doncaster ........ or anywhere a long way from London.
  12. City worker on 140k and his girlfriend on 60k ? The average London wage is 40k and the average City of London wage for city folk is around 90k so you are being very generous in your estimates. I live in a flat with my other half and we both earn what I would class as fairly decent wages but cannot afford to buy a house in ED as the prices are now so high. For people who bought their first property 10 plus years ago then their place has gone up 50% plus but for anyone who only bought in the last five years will find that in ED anything bigger than a flat is way out of their reach. With unemployment high, and job security a thing of the past I would not want a mortgage of 700k or even 350 k ! Also, so what if that person spends 100 a month on iphone, what is approx a 1k a year going to be when you are trying to by a 600k house in ED ????
  13. It all stems from demand in my view. The demand for a three bad flat is much less than a three bed house so the difference in price between say a share of Freehold decent 3 bed Flat vs 3 bed House seems to be in excess of 300k. As a proportion this much higher than average.
  14. What is going on with theis train? It has been cancelled two days in a row !!!!!!!
  15. I realised that a bunch of texts I recieved this morning were all sent last night so no signal at all yesterday evening.
  16. Me too, I barely get a signal on Underhill Road for the last week or so.
  17. There was some filming going on this morning on Underhill Road by the Dunstans Rad junction, any ideas what it was ? Cheers
  18. They need bollards up to stop cars parking in the no park areas and obstructing the view. I always hold my breath crossing there as cars then to speed on Barry Road and the visbility is poor.
  19. Terraced house in ED for 275k ? Was this a typo ?
  20. Thanks James. It was ridiculous this morning.
  21. Is anyone getting fed up with the building work going on here ? There is now a massive skip, a huge metal crate plus always five or six vnas parked there. Also when they have to corden anywhere off they corden off twice the area and take up loads of room. Today there was a huge traffic jam as cars couldn't get round the havoc (semed like there was some sort of buldiers party by the ampunt of people there) and a P13 was coming the other way. Cars then spilled over and blocked Barry Road and as cars tried to dodge them there was nearly an accicdent. Not only is this very inconvenient but it is now getting dangerous.
  22. Cam123 - Fair point but then the developers shouldn't be so greedy with trying to sell the place for 25% more than it is worth.
