  1. Missed Goat earlier, but so far the pick of the online viewing has been Django Django on the Park Stage right now.
  2. Cider in for tonight; out all day/evening for Titchess's b'day tomorrow, but will resume the position on Sunday. Will don my spangly D.I.S.C.O pants for Chic/Nile Rogers tonight.
  3. Popped back into the draft house early evening yesterday and had a good burger (smoke burger) and the missus had a cheeseburger. Both were decent, fries were excellent and were included in price. Had a couple of pints of the Camden Wheat beer , which was lovely. Staff were also excellent. Happy to be proved wrong.
  4. i find the adverts for it excrutiating enough, so gawd knows what the actual program is like I do know that my twitter/facebook feeds are full of people moaning about how awful it is- goodness knows why they bother watching it then. We Brits seem to like watching unwatchable telly, then moaning about how unwatchable it is.
  5. "Cheeseburger was ?9.50 INCLUDING chips." special offer, or is the menu on their website wrong?
  6. ...oh, and the last time (second time thus far) we popped in, there was a strong smell of flatulence. Perhaps a by-product of good ale.
  7. Hi Dave I don't want to seem like i'm just on here moaning; but think some constructive criticism (from experience, it's most valuable in the catering trade) is what you're after. I love decent beer and want to love the Draft House. I was put off by the prices (great to hear they've been dropped); but also the feel of the place. It just doesn't feel welcoming. The shape doesn't help (nothing much that can be done there I know). There's very little room to gather- except for the eating area at the back. Gathering round the narrow bar area, it feels like you're always in someone's way- and the seating area by the front door makes you feel a little like an outcast. Also, the decor feels very 'IKEA teenage bedroom'. I have to say too, that the food prices are ambitious. ?9.50 for a burger plus ?3.25 for fries is a lot. ?12.75 for burger and fries, compared to ?9 for an Honest Burger and Fries (less for a standard cheeseburger) at Honest Burger (have to be the best burgers in town), make it a no brainer to make the 20 minute bus ride to Brixton. Hope this helps.
  8. Used it once in two years
  9. kill it pluck it skin it gut it stick it in a pie

Bloody lower classes and their bloody buses. And how the government have the cheek to fine good honest working people for breaking the law, is nothing short of scandalous.
  11. Luckily for me it only seems to have been 24 hours and no vomiting. Nasty abdominal cramps, right through to my back and a couple of particularly violent 'episodes'. But a digestive biscuit and water diet and getting back on with it seems to have done the trick. Am very tired though.
  12. It's all moot anyway- this is how London develops and shifts, and will continue to do so. Art students will populate cheaper areas within reach of art colleges (Camberwell, Goldsmiths etc), the areas will start to become interesting, middle classes and money will follow. Should the working 'classes' have areas that no other 'classes' are allowed to move to? Working class ghettos? Now there's an idea.
  13. She doesn't have a point- all of those areas are completely socially mixed- all have 'working' and 'middle' class enclaves.
  14. Yes, definitely same beer. The draft house manager sent me a nice pm apologising for not being made aware of the price until the bottle had been opened and explaining that as Belgo are Belgian beer specialists they get a big bulk discount. He also offered to buy me a beer next time I'm passing. numbers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Interesting article on the use of the word 'craft' > by the beer industry > http://www.londonlovesbusiness.com/business-news/b > usiness/browns-beer-big-beer-brands-stop-pretendin > g-you-were-crafted-by-a-guy-in-a-shed/4949.article > > > titch oh no that's not good. was it def the same > beer, seems a hell of a lot more to pay for it in > ED than Covent Garden? > > I spent 4.50 on a bottle of N2B black widow stout > and 3.95 on their IPA. expensive habit but suppose > it forces you to drink less... 15. In the draft house a couple of weeks ago i Got given a Golden Draak as a recommendation (not on menu, so didn't see price until girl opened it and put it in the till)--- delicious beer....?8.95 a bottle. Three days later had exactly the same in belgo, Covent garden for ?5.50. Outrageous rip off in the draft house
  16. Funny how the WORLD'S press are putting double page spreads inside their papers (not in the sports pages) about Ferguson's history and legacy, and fans of all other clubs (including Leeds and Man City) are universally praising him- yet liverpool fans, on here, on my facebook newsfeed and on twitter are still managing to find fault. I can understand a little bitterness after being dominant for so long, then having to watch their main rivals, under the tutelage of one man, overtake their domestic achievements in the space of a generation- but the irrational, blinkered resentment just makes them look childish and pathetic. And this from a Spurs fan of over 30 years who is happy to hold up Wenger as one the greatest ever Premier League managers.
  17. "You mean that when those in the European cup were actual champions rather today's format for the "champions" league. Yes, much harder to win these days. :-/" much harder to win these days you still have all the champions in the competition you know- just there's many more games, and groups to get out of (and a liverpool fan should know that league format is tougher than cup format- you have to be consistently good to win it now)

  19. so, that's the PFA Player of the Year, PFA Young Player of the Year and FWA Player of the Year for Gareth Frank Bale. Take a bow son.
