Did you have a great 2nd or subsequent birth?
bjm replied to reren's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Yes. 1st was 40 hours of very hard work. 2nd 9 hours- 4 hours at home- gas and air and a water birth at Kings- it was fast and painful but really lovely and I felt really empowered by the experience. -
We stayed at a Pierre Vacance site in N France- amazingly good value and all facilities on site which you could use or avoid as you wished! It was full of kids and mine made friends from all over Europe- they played out together every evening and had a ball, they still reminisce about it now!

Horniman School. Tell me your experiences please.

We have children at the Horniman. It is a lovely friendly school. The teaching in reception and year 1 has been excellent. It is smaller than average with a great outdoor space and what a view! There are huge choices of excellent pre and post school clubs. My daughter is progressing really well academically but more importantly to us she loves her school. She feels proud to go there and has a great group of friends. -
Southwark Primary School Admissions for Sept 2013

I think anyone with a place at Goose Green should be thrilled.I think its insulting for someone to be moaning in the paper about being allocated a good school when there are lots of fraught people here with no school place at all yet. -

Yes ... roll on 5 indeed. Good luck to all waiting. -
Likewise the Horniman. We love it. It's a smaller than average friendly school with great outdoor space. Our daughter is so happy there.

I am so sorry to hear this has happened. I hope you finally get the support you deserve tomorrow. If not please pm me. -
I agree with Pickle. Be honest as diplomatically as you can. Friendship groups change all the time at this point I find. Your daughter found it upsetting last time and I would just say you think they don't really get on that well. At least you can have a break for a week with half term...!

Recommend Science Boffins- google them. They do really exciting/funny experiments- explosions- magnets- balloons- fireworks etc My daughter had them for her party and it kept 14 6 years olds enthralled for an hour!

Hi we are on Therapia We got into Horniman in a bulge year and we love the school. We were told by Fairlawn we had virtually no chance getting a place there and this was two years ago unless we waited on the list and maybe got a place after the year had started. It's such an anxiety provoking time- good luck!

We went to the Forte Village- got a reasonable deal from Citalia It was heavenly and the facilities for kids were just amazingly good
