  1. Recommend Mundays - very professional
  2. I recommend FitFor - as well as all the personalised equipment they have a free weights area with additional machines
  3. No but you might drive there to visit into the various shops before popping over to west Dulwich to say, the garden centre??? Then rosendale road perhaps. These shops used to rely on passing trade - people dropping in en route. The new schemes make these businesses rely on the immediate residents’ trade. Yes people do cycle (I do in dry conditions) but if I’m planning to carry stuff I use the car.
  4. I noticed on Monday 23rd as we left for family Xmas - lordship lane was rammed and hugely busy. Driving thru Dulwich Village it was dead… all those small independent businesses did not have anything like the footfall… well how wonderful for Southwark to destroy a local business hub by limiting parking and access…
  5. That’s fantastic- well done - fingers crossed you find the owner
  6. So very sad to hear this - lovely chap - deepest condolences to the family
  7. Thanks ! I’d seen this but was after a number x
  8. Anyone have a contact number for this stall holder? - north cross road market stall
  9. What about the place next to EDT? All seems to have stopped
  10. Alleyn park garden centre in west Dulwich have a lovely selection- they will deliver lovely family run independent business (got some super Xmas wreaths and table pieces also)
  11. Think it’s been gone a while?
  12. Tbh - I was a bit thrown by a turn right into turney road the other evening when it was dark ! There is a pinch point where the cycle lane is and the 2 lanes going each way- I completely misjudged it and was turning into the oncoming traffic lane - it’s very much narrower than it has been for the last 30 years… obv will know next time 🙄
  13. I regularly go to the post office for sending things that need a signature/tracked service- so not sure what the alternative is. The Lordship Lane branch frequently has long queues which suggests it is an essential service.
  14. I had no idea about the sourcing of the paving stones - where is the info on this? The extension of the paved area seems completely unjustified- plus, there is a cycle lane right thru the middle so there are bound to be some near misses with pedestrians.
  15. what a shocking waste of money
  16. Since the cost of moving is astronomical- and moving to a larger house is well outside of most people’s budget- I heartily support someone who needs extra space and does not have the means to move. If you have children at school etc you no doubt would want to stay - I see nothing wrong with a loft extension and many of the ones in recent years are much better designed and attractive than earlier versions.
  17. Another big thumbs up for Kix!! Looking forward to the new place - love their food and their team!!
  18. Just for balance - I have met a young chap with 2 XL type dogs on Goose Green who were utterly sweet and bonkers. Not aggressive in any way. however I understand there are been 2 dog attacks close to peckham library by XL type dogs - one on a dog, and apparently one on a man - I do not have info about the second but the police have been informed about the former - hopefully caught on CCTV
  19. Callows?
  20. Put it in your front garden with a sign saying ‘take me’ - pretty sure it will be snapped up!
  21. Ah I was thinking of the shrubbery area near the Huf houses ! No if you mean the fenced off area near the cafe then 🙄 that’s just totally unreasonable.
  22. I have never spotted no dog signs for that part of the park??
  23. Totally support the action group - majority of residents did not want, majority of businesses didn’t either - so fair play to them to challenge. That is not unreasonable in my mind. Sorry if that is ‘boring’
  24. It’s all just a mess. So much money spent faffing - the junction is still closed (malumbo and co no doubt delighted) emergency vehicles and care workers are still prevented from going about their business so no doubt you are happy. Why have they spent god knows what in yet endless works. The money spent fiddling around in the wealthiest part of the borough is puzzling. If the council was maintaining dog kennel hill playground or providing decent facilities to areas of need I may be a little less disgruntled. It’s the fact that this is public money being spaffed away - All the independent shops will be gone soon -.Southwark can give themselves a pat on the back in continuing the roll out of the homogeneous chains taking over the high street. Then there will be a fabulous thread on the EDF discussing the glory days of all the local independent shops that graced the village ‘back in the day’ ..
