CCTV in Marmora Road
Tony.London Suburbs replied to Marmora Man's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
For anyone who has the opinion that we should be saturated with CCTV Cameras as "if only one person benefits its worthwhile" then would they agree that IF we ever had the funds then a camera should be placed in EVERY room of every house because "if one person is saved from domestic violence then they are worthwhile". Surely it the same principle. So,presumably, all those for CCTV's in abundance would have no problem with this either...? Then if we put in "Tracking" systems in all cars.Have CCTV's on every street,in as many places as possible and have cameras in every home,in abundance we have FINALLY reached "Nirvana"/"El Dorado"/"Elysium"/ and The "Utopian" ideal of 1984..>:D< -

Attack On Noel Gallagher:Madness!

Peckhamgatecrasher Wrote: There is no clarity in your post. What are you on about? ....O.K..Edited "highlights". Noel Gallagher got clumped on stage. Attacker strolled PAST Liam to attack Noel. Very strange that someone would not chin Liam,if he was going to thump someone. -

For clarity, let me explain that the assailiant was not a serial attacker so only attacked Noel Gallagher and not any Members of Madness.Notthatwithstanding is this Guy absolutely, completely and utterly insane? Now Noely may not be everyones Cup of Tea but to DELIBERATELY strut past that vile creature, his brother Liam to get to Noely?? Liberties have been taken, for sure here.:(6)(6)

Sounds like good advice! I want to be on,when does the match start?

I was there! Whats it worth?...My time and wise counsel does not come cheap, sadly.:( Which Bus was it again? "I was involved in a tiff with the 176 this morning" ....I've had agro with those "12's" the modern bendy kind.Like they own the road with their arrogant,never-ending selves.Much prefer the old "12's" Route-Masters.They were always pleasant and courteous on the roads.Bygone era,I'm afraid.(6)

Sorry to interject but whats a "Nob-jockey" please?..Is it a term appertaining to East Dulwich and its immediate environs or can one be a "Nob-jockey" further afield? What does one have to do/be to become qualified or classified as a "Nob-jockey"(?)

Draw/L Orient * 10.88 8.00 Back 79.00 L Orient/L Orient * 7.60 9.00 Back -9.00 Walsall/L Orient 65.00 3.00 Back 05-Sep-08 15:28 -3.00 Back subtotal: 67.00 Lay subtotal: 0.00 Market subtotal: 67.00 Commission @ 4.81%:3.22 Net Market Total: 63.78 Thats the only one I did online and I Won ?63.78..I'm always sceptical about "tips" based on "inside knowledge" so would never advise getting too involved on this type of Bet. NEXT WEEK:I will advise my bets BEFORE the Matches!:)

Jah Lush Wrote: Good work those who helped out.> Tony, you're living in a rose tinted past. Get real. There were plenty of villains and thugs and a lot of violence around 40 years ago. Of course there were villians and thugs who, invariably harmed other villians and thugs! The average Guy walking the street could walk safely thru' any part of London at 4/5.00AM I did scores of times and never gave it a thought in the Early 1970's.. I'll think you'll find most people who were there realised London was THe Centre of The Universe for Creativity in Music/Fashion/Photography/Theatre etc.... -

When I see MANY people acknowledging when you allow them to cross the road or extend a courtesy to another motorist. When I see people waiting patiently in single file, actualling queueing,at an Inner London Bus Stop. When I see most Offices and Betting Shops are OPen-Plan. When people can buy a Newspaper at the roadside with no vendor but just simply leavingthe money to pile up during the day. When Council Officers can walk round, carefree, collecting in cash the weekly rent so that it amounts to a pretty penny at days end When all the Security Systems and bars and grills are removed from properties etc etc then I know that "Inner" London is beginning to get back to where we were 40 years ago....until then(?) -
