  1. What's the programme format? Do you not send a celebrity in at some stage?
  2. You've not answered my questions.
  3. If I visit your home and inadvertently leave something behind, my scooter perhaps, or my wallet or debit card, do you have any duty of care to me? If so, how far does it extend?

Must watch Heimat again this year. And A Very Peculiar Practice. It might then be time for the original Tinker Tailor again. And I'm still hoping that Roads To Freedom will emerge from some archive or cardboard box in someone's garage.
  5. A careful worker will check that what they're working on isn't live even when they think they've disabled the supply. Do get yourself a mains-testing screwdriver and check that you can see it working. Video examples are available. If lower voltages are involved, neon screwdriver mains testers are unlikely to be of use. You'd need a multimeter.

"The United Kingdom is free to revoke unilaterally the notification of its intention to withdraw from the EU "Such a revocation, decided in accordance with its own national constitutional requirements, would have the effect that the United Kingdom remains in the EU under terms that are unchanged as regards its status as a Member State" -- from ECJ press release No.191/18 of 10 Dec. 2018 https://curia.europa.eu/jcms/upload/docs/application/pdf/2018-12/cp180191en.pdf, which contains a link to the judgment papers, case C-621/18.

  11. The Royal Mail complaints page https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app/contact#category-tree-after, once you manage to reach it, offers you two "Email Us" options: 1) "Send a message now" -- ie complete a web form. "We aim to reply within 3 working days" 2) "Alternatively, you can contact us at [email protected] We aim to answer emails sent to this address within 10 working days."
  12. > I'd say it's 10m as two cars fills it. Which would be consistent with its being treated as not a major left-turning flow. I don't know what people think would be an appropriate length, or whether anything other then the 30 or 10 m options could be considered.
  13. From the following it seems to me that there's a 30 m broken line prescribed, as in the RH part of figure 9-1. (The diagrams cited are in TSRGD itself. Diagram 1010, for example, is simply a line of 1000 x 200 mm dashes, printed at http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2016/362/schedule/11/part/4/made#text%3D1010.) 1.1.1. The Traffic Signs Manual (the Manual) offers advice to traffic authorities and their contractors, designers and managing agents in the United Kingdom, on the use of traffic signs and road markings on the highway network. Mandatory requirements are set out in the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016 (as amended) (TSRGD). ............ 9.3.13. Where a nearside bus lane passes a junction with a major left‑turning flow into the side road, the line to diagram 1049A should be replaced with a broken line to diagram 1010 (see Figure 9-1). The broken line should commence 30 m in advance of the junction, and have the same width as the line to diagram 1049A. It should be accompanied by the arrow to diagram 1050 indicating a left turn (see Figure 9-6). At other junctions, the diagram 1049A marking should be terminated approximately 10 m before the junction (or at the junction if the minor road is one‑way towards the major road). In each case the bus lane recommences beyond the junction in combination with a marking to diagram 1010 (see Figure 9-1). It is important to ensure that the marking to diagram 1049A is terminated correctly, so that drivers turning left can move across to do so safely without needing to cross the continuous line.--Traffic Signs Manual, Chapter 3 (2019) https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/traffic-signs-manual

  18. Presumably there is a Clarkes coach somewhere with a scrape with some of your car paint on it. Where on the coach would it be likely to be, and what colour?
  19. Whereabouts do you two live?
  20. Another sitrep request on Private Eye deliveries in SE22 please. Mine, due yesterday, again hasn't yet arrived. Thankfully the crossword is online, so I can at least be getting on with that.

  24. > Have you tried the Dulwich Constitutional club, > I believe their drinks are reasonable. I've been in there for the occasional public meeting but they still remain a bit of a mystery to me. They say they're a private members' club, and offer little sign of publicising or inviting membership. http://www.dcclublondon.co.uk/ Their premises licence permits supply of drinks to members (of 'a club'). http://app.southwark.gov.uk/licensing/LicPremisesGrantedDetails.asp?systemkey=842978 A local forum provided a little more information: /forum/read.php?5,52432,52900, /forum/read.php?30,876431.
