  1. In what part of the page do the links of the sort you're talking about appear, and in what circumstances?
  2. No, it's the AA. https://www.nationalworld.com/arts-and-culture/these-are-the-uks-best-outdoor-pools-and-lidos-new-lido-league-reveals-top-swimming-spots-5218853 "Experts from The AA analysed 164 lidos and outdoor pools for the average monthly Google search volumes, average Google review scores, Instagram tags, entry and parking fees, as well as the average maximum temperature and hours of summer sunlight at each location, to determine the very best swimming spots across the UK."
  3. Has anything emerged as to how the reported misinterpretation of rules ruling out proxy votes occurred, or what the specific fault was? I've found and looked through https://labour.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/Labour-group-model-standing-orders-2023.pdf, which afaics seems to be a prime relevant document. It allows for local council Labour groups making minor amendments to cater for their council's particular form of organisation. I've not seen any _explicit_ mention of proxy voting in the model SOs document itself. I'm attaching my notes on it. re_Labour-Group-Model-SOs.txt
  4. The Leader of the Council gets a larger Special Responsibility Allowance than plain Cabinet members: £58,427 in 2023-24, rather than somewhere in the £30k+ range. See https://www.southwark.gov.uk/about-council/councillors-and-mps/councillors/allowances, which includes links to full tables of payments made to all councillors for the past seven years. There's a list of Cabinet members at https://moderngov.southwark.gov.uk/mgCommitteeMailingList.aspx?ID=302
  5. Incidentally, Southwark seems to have possibly adopted a requirement of swift boxes in new-builds anyway, and I think they're not the only LA to have done so. I recently added to to my post in https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/342208-free-swift-nest-box-installation-in-se22/#comment-1703954, the edit:- [ 30/4/25, 18/6/25 ETA To answer my own question: I see that 4 swift nesting boxes were actually required at an earlier stage of that same developments application. In the 4/4/25 Decision Notice of application 24/AP/3740 is: "8. The development shall be carried out in accordance with the swift bricks details approved under 24/AP/3596 unless otherwise agreed in writing by the Local Planning Authority ]
  6. The reference to helicopters (plural) is exceptional. I don't think I've seen any instance, here or in any TV police-at-work series, where more than one at a time has been said to be involved. A google search found, in the first three pages, just two cases, since 2010, where two helicopters were reported. In both instances these involved police forces in two adjoining county areas, where perps in cars were being sought immediately after robberies.
  7. Does it deal at all with the question of the anticipated per capita future costs of necessary repairs to or upgrading of the ?still largely old underground piping across their area, and how that compares with future risks existing in other areas? I wonder too whether the latest apparent concentrated spate of leaks is attributable at all to the heat. TW say that they have not made any dividend payments to external shareholders (among them a Candian teachers pension fund) since 2017. There have been like payments, though, to their holding companies (?Kemble, and Thames ?something), reportedly I think to service debts to them. Thames Water annual company reports are available online. Ofwat have also published about leakage.
  8. I believe this is him. I've brightened up the photo.
  9. This is the first you've told us that you left them, at least six months ago. Did you go to the 23 January PPG meeting yourself? If so what happened there?
  10. They're obviously not competent to witness the documents in the OP's case. The list of required qualifications looks to me similar to the Land Registry's requirement connected with a TR1. Vladi, from my own experience I'd not rely on email inquiries of potentials. The response I got an email to the solicitors in Melbourne Grove was from another of their branches and was inconsequential. From William Bailey, addressed to their published reception or info mailbox and saying I could drop in at very short notice, I'm afraid I got no response at all, even after also mentioning that I'd be looking for assistance with a will in the near future and expected to be asking them. From an online search i did note quite a few in the Camberwell area. In the end though I was able to rely on an online verification, arranged by one of the other parties.
  11. I don't understand why/how Stradella Road is included in the Lambeth traffic order (in both Schedules 1 and 2) referred to above while it's shown as in Dulwich Village ward and within Southwark boundary on the Southwark map at https://geomap.southwark.gov.uk/connect/analyst/mobile/#/main. Can anyone help explain?
  12. Alas, poor Toadflax! And gentle Alkanet.
  13. You might leave copies of this post on the windscreens of any cars that you think may have been issued with parking tickets before you saw the suspension notices being put up. Include some contact details -- at least your forum username -- so that the owners can contact you if they wish to dispute the tickets on the ground of unlawfulness. Eventual feedback here -- presumably this would be evidence of a cancellation of any such tickets -- would be very welcome.
  14. At what times of day do you pass?
  15. I surmise, taking into account the existing markings, as on this from https://geomap.southwark.gov.uk/connect/analyst/mobile/#/main, that the 3m on the south side of Bawdale ouside No.2 might well be a continuation of the proposed segment along the side of 157 LL. You could ask Highways Dept. [Added 6/6 : Select "Parking Bays (Traffic Restriction Orders)" from the map's RH menu to enable the mark-up of the current yellow line etc locations. Click on actual location for textual details to appear in a LH panel].
  16. Then someone must take multiple cuttings from the tuber and make arrangements for their possible growth into an identifiable plant. I'll even take one or two myself if any spare and try to create an experimental area in the front wilderness for them.
  17. Was that the the time it took before reporting something like 'Fully charged'? If so, had you tried checking from time to time before then whether the battery was effective? It might also be interesting trying the charger again after a week or two, to see how well the battery is maintaining charge.
  18. It is intimidating looking through the book sections now. I sometimes wonder if they're stocking bookshops' remainders. OTOH, when I put some books out in a cardboard box for taking, it was encouraging to see that a fair proportion of those taken were aged hardbacks.
  19. For a start you could just try a standard shutdown and let the system try its own tidy-up and graceful process halting. Then remove the disk, which can be examined elsewhere. Alternatively doesn't windows have a task manager that can show you what processes and devices are running, and allow you to shut any down.Ctrl_Alt_Delete? Or use a command window or ?Explorer to examine any changes in the contents of the external drive.
  20. > there's a cancel button on the keypad or screen prompt. That's reassuring. Thanks.
  21. It might be helpful to know what kind of MO was involved. Is it possible that the hand-waving man (a) retrieved your card? (b) accessed the keypad at all? Have you found out how or where or for what item(s) the £251 transaction took place, or where your card ended up? How, btw, does one cancel an ongoing ATM withdrawal? I've got no idea in my mind of what keypad options are available.
  22. I noticed that today too, at that corner of the Alleyn's field. Isn't it just the same as the habitual one from the school field in Greendale, just after the rail bridge? I've never quite fixed on how and exactly where that one's coming from, but have mentally tagged it as cut grass probably fermenting.
  23. "Are there any planned engineering works or unexpected transmitter faults on the Crystal Palace (Greater London, England) mast? "Crystal Palace transmitter - Crystal Palace transmitter: Possible effect on TV reception week commencing 12/05/2025 Pixelation or flickering on some or all channels" says https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Crystal_Palace. In which case I don't see any point in rescanning (not that it'll do any harm). I've not noticed any signal degradation at all, TV or BBC radio, so it sounds as if it's probably intermittent. Ah - I did notice a couple of brief R4 breaks yesterday, and assumed they were studio glitches. I don't think either lasted more than a minute.
