The most recent substantial thread looks to be the one at http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,1617990. The company, East Dulwich Grove Nursery Ltd, is still active: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/09180733/filing-history.

Was this person, as I assumed, following up their non-receipt of a Household Enquiry Form response from your address? If so, there's a Doorstep Script for Canvassers downloadable from the Part 3 resources of https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/electoral-administrator/running-electoral-registration, showing how things should ideally run. The first two pages pertain to HEFs. ITRs, as on p3 are Invitations To Register, which may be sent to anyone new mentioned in the HEF.

"Households who have not yet responded to the Household Enquiry Form sent in July 2018 by the 31 August 2018 may get a visit from an appointed Southwark council personal canvasser who will help you to complete the form and answer any questions you may have." https://www.southwark.gov.uk/council-and-democracy/voting-and-elections/the-annual-electoral-canvass

That's very vexing. I assume it may be passed to British Transport Police, whom I didn't find very responsive in my case many years ago. Do check, when whoever gets in touch, what the current case status is, open, closed, ,,,. And whether they have checked or will be checking CCTV. If anyone reading this can narrow down the time of the theft, please do so, so that OP can help the police narrow their search. I don't know what policy BTP has, but the Met will devote only limited time to CCTV scanning.

Thanks for the report. Do you mean Eynella Road, by the library? How is the cyclist? And any details about where the pursuit began and ended, and in which direction they took off?

From the Sparkling Clean in-store special offers from Sunday 2 Sept. https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/Non-Food-Offers.htm?articleId=15761&ar=1 I've been dreadfully disappointed since their recent Eastern European splash didn't include a rerun of the Polish horseradish sauce. Twice the strength of the wimpish Ebglish stuff.

> Also, I don't get the symptoms lying down, only when I move. I had what was diagnosed, on its clearing up, as probably viral labyrinthitis, some decades ago. I too felt absolutely fine when lying down, albeit in a dozy and spacey way, but very unpleasantly dizzy and ill on standing up, which made the five minute walk to the Docs a trial. Some nystagmus noted. I was improving after five days, and ok after nine, according to the notes. I have a slight downgrading of higher frequency hearing in one ear, and occasional mild tinnitus, which may have been a result. I see from one source: "Much confusion surrounds the nomenclature of acute vestibular neuronitis because the term ?labyrinthitis? often is used interchangeably with it. Labyrinthitis (i.e., inflammation of the labyrinthine organs caused by infection) is distinct from acute vestibular neuronitis (i.e., inflammation of the vestibular nerve), and the terms are not interchangable." https://www.aafp.org/afp/2006/0115/p244.html I hope yours clears up soon too.

> A bit of research leads me to conclude that this was a convolvulus > hawk moth Agrius convolvuli) rather than a deaths head hawk moth. I'm not sure even of that. I take it, from what I've found, that Ag con can emulate tree bark, as does the fellow in your fine photographs, but as far as I can remember without the photo, there were also some structural differences. How sure do you feel? I spent some time this morning medium skimming through the varied finder pages at https://ukmoths.org.uk/, and didn't find one convincing match. For a novice like me it's quite an exhausting process. I wish there were a systematic key one could work though. I did note a couple of other genera which also showed some markings in the same position as the death head. But without the expert knowledge of variations within species, let alone that of being able to instantly recognise even its genus. I feel at a bit of a loss. When our piccies are up again - unless you've already got the convincing evidence - might it be worth trying a moth recognition forum such as https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheMothAndButterflyIdentificationForum/about/.

I think we can survive without them for the time being. It'll get sorted.

Several of us have noticed that we can't see attached files at present. Reports have been sent to Admin.
-
-
I'm wondering how it's come about. If it's the result of a local system tweak or change I'd be hopeful that it can be easily reversed. I hope that's the case.
-
I've just reported to admin directly. It looks like a system thing. I get "Linking to files in this forum is not allowed from outside the forum." on all attached links I try.

?5 for a short survey about local schools
ianr replied to Afr4n's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
I see the wording has changed and no longer includes the dishonest "need of some help with a project I?m working on for a local school" of the original version ( http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1962163 ). The wording (below) of a version posted on the Green Parent forum yesterday ( https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:W1fjwhl0fuQJ:https://thegreenparent.co.uk/forums/viewthread/28786+) as "Independent Schools Survey", is even more straightforward and truthful. I?m looking for parents to answer a very quick survey (10 mins) for a ?5 reward, about independent schools in your area. I work for Liveminds, a research recruitment company based in Moorgate. The survey is completely confidential, and you?ll be sent the reward within 7 days via PayPal. We?d really appreciate your feedback - please simply follow the link below: From going through the survey (the version I was presented with, which might not be the only one), I'd say the survey's commissioners include the Girls' Day School Trust. The schools it mentions are mostly in Greater London but include some like Guildford and Tunbridge Wells. Liveminds are at https://liveminds.com/. ETA: Afr4n has since added in the original thread : "Just to assure people that this research is being conducted by Liveminds and Acacia Avenue (who I work for)..." ( http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?20,1962163#msg-1964244 ) My emphasis. -

Has your teachers licensing authority said that it is only a JP's certification that would be acceptable? I think that would be rather unusual. There are alternatives which can often be acceptable in some cases, such as ordinary solicitors, public notaries, or possibly, it appears, even the Post Office. There are at least two threads here with some relevant suggestions. http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/search.php?5,search=notary,page=1,match_type=ALL,match_dates=0,match_forum=ALL There's more on notaries here: https://www.thenotariessociety.org.uk/pages/what-is-a-notary.

Hello DulCool1. Hello Everyone. DC, I'm curious to know what your first language is. And as a sort of answer to your question... I used to cycle up Dog Kennel Hill each day on my way to work. However I felt when I left home there was something heartening in seeing the view uphill with the treeline meeting the sky. And then, some years ago, they built an apartment block two thirds of the way up the hill, with an upper storey that extended even above the treeline. And that view disappeared for ever.
