Seeing as the wonderful people of this island have decided (for whatever reason) we are to leave the bussom of Europe, I'm wondering what we rename everyday items Of course Snikers can return as Marathon's Cif will be Jif once more And Croissants can be plain old 'crescents' Funnily there's no replaement to 'cul-de-sac' But of course pizza is only a round 'cheese on toast' Any further suggestions ???

Teresa May I'd never thought I'd be say her name in this context, but we are where we are I think the whole Boris backdown is a crafted strategy to get the best from the worst

Do you cover Sydenham? -
I'm not sure I can find a safety pin big enough. We have a cafe run by a Turkish guy here in Sydenham, we go there a few times a month. He's been here for about 20 years and he's a valued member of this diverse area proper. Today he sat and quietly asked "What do you think of this thing about Europe?" To which I gave him my "I voted in" answer and that I found the whole thing horribly divisive which makes it all the more depressing. My heart sank further at a text-image his wife sent from nearby Bromley. Basically it was a sign written on chipboard in felt pen, and propped outside of the door of a place It said something to the effect "British passport holders only. Any E.U holders can f*ck off and the channel is that way (with an arrow pointing)" And sadly it seems this isn't an isolated incident, this whole thing has empowered the worst elements and given them what they needed - A PLATFORM

It's reminding me more and more of this slightly culty 'don't you get it' thing going on in Labour-Party-La-la-Land Yes I wholly agree he's a man of (often quiet) principles and I admire that. But when it's raining boiling oil out there (points to the current political landscape) you can't come out in your hill-walking Kagol and have a 'well this has seved me well' type attitude I'm glad he's not a liar, but gently clearing your throat and expressing you thoughts in a near hushed manner, just isn't cutting it right now. And maybe as a part of a shadow cabinet it would all seem so admirable, but as a leader he's heading 'the party' where?
-
Firstly JC is like a concept jazz album, with all the chin rubbing that goes with that But as a functioning leader for the opposition in the current situation, he's woefully unfit and sinking Sadly tho, there's little light to shine on any prospective 'new' leader And in the braided solitarily and inward navel gazing, the country is dividing more and more. And some of that blame has to lay at the feet of the leadership, because had he/it been more effective we might not be in this hideous position There isn't going to be a 'next Labour government' anytime soon. So best it gets its arse into gear to try and form the best opposition it can muster and stop fiddling whilst Rome burns And ha ha! Lib Dem is much like climbing into the life raft whilst the sea is on fire

Well even if there was a 'plan' to spend some of the money's 'saved' then here's a recalibration of that truth http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36641390 Shit really, but who ever believed it (ignoring the 17million odd)

My OP is slightly tongue in cheek, as I've got a life to get on with BUT, as shaunag points out, there's often darker divisions lurking in places And then there's the cost. Today I learn our stock cost more due to the value of the pound. If this continues at the rate of today I'll be ?26k down on that product alone, which is one or more jobs in our warehouse essentially And if we have to choose who goes, maybe the 'how did you vote?' question will arise Horrible reality really

Oh Jez I feel you're right Except my outlaws are Tory councillors, and think it's all great and love to tell you so 😐 Wine often makes them worse, so I encourage the kids to play up and break the telly

I'm finding it hard to muster the will to ever talk to some people again over the Referendum result Yes I'm fine to say 'oh you voted out!' to people who I know on a superficial level, whilst in my head thinking "Well, you're a cunt then aren't you" But it's with family and friends where I struggle to withhold my true feelings. However, I'm struggling with the in-laws and closer members of my family, who can basically go take a running jump from here on in Maybe there's some kind of Post-Brexit Divorce papers that can served on those no longer not-so-dear-and-near. I also wonder what kids of the future will ask, much like after the last war "What way did you vote Grandpa?"
