  1. *Bob*, I have a friend in the Palace who describes herself as an independent space and defense professional on a certain social network. Any use to you?
  2. Back to the Public Order Act: *** A Leicestershire trader has been fined for displaying shirts bearing a rude slogan about the prime minister. Tony Wright, 60, from Burton Lazars, was told the shirts could cause alarm or even distress. He was caught selling them at the Royal Norfolk Show and told to take down his stand. The shirts have the slogan "B******* to Blair" emblazoned on them. He said he would challenge the ?80 fixed penalty the police gave him for causing harassment, alarm and distress. ***
  3. So they caught up with him in Gipsy Hill.... So he's still doing work in the area? Or lives here? I mean, Gipsy Hill is down the road (or rather, up the hill). The ARB takes *very* seriously the non-registration thing - even if you are qualified but have let your registration lapse. I've found they respond very quickly to a complaint on that. And he's clearly doing electrical work, which *is* quite strictly controlled now.
  4. I've had some of those too, Sue, from some EDF rogue names. Now: I'd be perfectly happy to send them away with nothing. And I now don't give away to those who are not EDF proper participants. Period.
  5. Another option would be to take stuff to the Dulwich Going Greener Give & Take event on Saturday 5 March. At: Francis Peek Centre, in Dulwich Park near the car park. Times: 11-3pm Give & Take can accept small electricals too (there will be a tester on site). Anything not taken by someone else goes to charity! (Will post full details to Events section tomorrow.)

Stereotypical is bleedin' unfunny Lenny Henry series on Radio 4. If you're going to say Rasta Mouse is stereotypical (to an extent, it is, but in quite a friendly and nice way) then Lenny Henry's series is more so.

Have not used, but would promote use of. Anything that gets cars off the road. So many people say they need a car to go to the supermarket, which strikes me as a bit daft. (Centralise shops then make cars necessary to go to them?) I think car clubs will contribute to some extent to making roads better for other road users (pedestrians, cyclists). > ? If you own a car would you think of giving it up > now that you have joined car club? (Or not buying > that planned second car?) Don't own a car. I have a bicycle, and walk, and use the odd taxi and a fair bit of public transport if going longer distances. > ? What stops you joining a car club? Voluntarily gave up licence - medical condition and not sensible to drive.

You are starting out from fantasy. And many religions have had mind-altering 'substances' at their centre.

  10. The books co-written by a Rastafarian swimming instructor...
  11. I haven't found the film online either, but you could try contacting the film-maker. It's 11-12 mins. long (and maybe only available on VHS? Film-maker's website http://www.kalifilms.com/main.html
  12. Which is why a policeman can order you to immediately remove a t-shirt bearing the words 'f*ck Blair' or similar. Apparently that causes alarm an distress to policemen.
  13. Fascinating account. What status does the land have? Is it Metropolitan Open Land? Borough Open Land?
  14. Beaten to it by the wonderful Peter Wood, who's done a 14-page summary for Southwark Cyclists. It's posted on the SC website. http://southwarkcyclists.org.uk/ Obviously a leaning towards themes of interest to cyclists, but helpful.
  15. "You can be sure of Shell!" The latest energy scenarios from Shell, with a video too. We're in for some "volatile transitions"...
  16. Yes, Nette, and the "bag *for* life" doesn't really exist :-$

  18. Actually, scrap that. They don't deserve it.

  20. Ah, Michael Dyer Associates? Just found the website. Looks like the business :-) Thanks

The quality of the marriage is more indicative than the number, mebbee? (However, in hindsight, it did feel like a bit of a 'beware' that I hadn't given sufficient weight to.)
  22. *Bob*, we don't actually know how many lasses have/had been fed similar lines. If you're plate spinning to the extent of going out/on holiday/shacking up with various ladies A, B, C etc., presumably they each need to be fed a line of some sort. At one point, having dashed back from holiday with one such lady in order to locate me at a particular place, he did admit to me he hadn't told her what he was up to and said she would be angry if she knew, so presumably some not very frank line had been peddled there. I just find it very odd that someone should come out with the kind of stuff written to person A while moving in with person B.

    Ask Admin

Admin, would it be permissible for a local not for profit org to have a separate login in order to publicise local events etc., in order to maintain some semblance of separation from the people who run it but have private lives, and minds, of their own?
