  1. I'm not sure there are rules but agree that if a sale has been agreed the person should stick to it. Failing that a better effort to let you know should have been made, especially as she had your phone number. I wouldn't necessarily have checked my email over that period either. I guess some people are just like that unfortunately. I've had experience in the past of trying to give things away and people not turning up when they've said and not letting me know. I know from messages on the boards that I am not alone in this.
  2. Hi there. We haven't had our loft converted but we saw quite a few conversions when we were house hunting a couple of years ago. By far the best was the one where the owners had put in a set of stairs above and parallel to the existing ones then built backwards over the back bathroom and bedroom, adding another bathroom and bedroom. These were both proper height and very decent sized rooms. All the others we saw were slight variations on spiral staircase up from the little landing near the front bedroom into the front roof space, and that means the only place it was possible to stand up was right in the middle. So OK for extra storage, kiddies or occasional stays, but not for day to day use by adults.
  3. Look people: move to another surgery. End of.
  4. Pre-bookable appointments at the end of March is a step forward from when I last tried to get an appointment and was told that none at all were pre-bookable, it was all by triage on the day. I used to think this surgery was fantastic but I work and I can't wait around on the off chance of an appointment. So I left and went elsewhere. And they wonder why so many people go to A&E with minor problems... Perhaps DMC just have more patients than they can cope with. As a consolation to those who remain, this might not be the case for too much longer, and then you'll be ok again! The Gardens and the Nunhead surgery both get good feedback on here.
  5. Having recommended DMC Chadwick Road some while ago, unfortunately something has gone terribly wrong recently. Such a shame. It has become virtually impossible to book an appointment as you can no longer book ahead (ie medical condition you want to get checked out but not urgent). You have to call on the day then will be called back and triaged, at which point I guess they decide whether or not to give you an appointment. As I work this is completely impractical - I am in an open plan office with private space to discuss medical matters not always available, and maybe in a meeting when I get the call. If I was to be rewarded with a precious appointment, I can't be running back and forth between work and the surgery all day. I voted with my feet and left. Can't yet comment on my new practice as I haven't needed to make an appointment, but as I understand they've had lots of new registrations from ex-dmc patients recently.
  6. DMC Chadwick Road get my vote, the best surgery I've ever used. The receptionists are pleasant and helpful, rather than considering their primary role to be to prevent you from seeing a doctor, as in some other surgeries. I've rarely seen the same doctor, although I don't go that often, but I've been happy with the majority of them.
