Warm swimming pool for toddler
Sunglasses replied to eastdulwichproperty's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Latchmere Pool is great for toddlers as it has a sloping "beach" type entry, the kids love it. It also has a wave machine on weekends, although that can be a bit scary for the younguns -
They are filiming "Swimming with Men". The director Oli Parker is married to Thandie Newton, she was there as well. As was the legendary Jane Horrocks. There were slebs everywhere!

Recommendation for a sleep trainer please!
Sunglasses replied to AnnieT's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I recommend Judy Clark. She was amazing, our 18 month old boy went from total nightmare to sleeping through in 4 days. It was like a miracle. Was expensive but SO worth it. Her website is www.babywinkz.com Good luck! -

Constant rubbish at Holmes Place, Oakhurst Grove

I just wanted to say thanks to Renata for helping get this sorted out. The enclosure has been a success, no fly tipping for at least a month now -
Heathrow's 3rd runway has been given initial approval today. Clearly the noise pollution in ED will only get worse but by how much? According to Heathrow's own website, ED is outside the area that will be impacted by the new flightpaths. But a map produced by Zac Goldsmith's team shows one of the new flightpaths goes diagonally across South ED. Which is correct?

One simple thing that could and should be done is to put a sign on the wall saying "FLY TIPPERS WILL BE PROSECUTED. MAXIMUM FINE ?2000" (or whatever the fine is) -

Well, I'm sad to say that the palm tree slowly died, and has now been replaced by a bush. There are two new graffiti tags on the doors (in yellow and black), and a fly-tipper has dumped a mattress and a divan in the usual spot. In other words, back to square one. I have written to L&Q, but if anyone else would like to, the details are above -

A palm tree has been planted in the dumping area! It looks great. I don't know if it will deter the fly tippers though, time will tell... -

Hi Renata and James Barber I personally feel prevention (e.g. fencing or shrubs etc) would be far more effective and cheaper than trying to catch/punish perpetrators (i.e. CCTV) I'm happy to make a CGS application if either of you could PM me with some advice on how to do it thanks -

I found antenatal classes were great for meeting people in same position. We were new to the area and didn't know anyone so it was a great way to make friends. We did the Ariadna Sole course (somebody else mentioned it above), She is a midwife at King's, She's really good. Totally recommend it. We had 6 other couples on the course and still meet with them 2 years later. We also did the NHS one at Dulwich Hospital. It was good for learning about babies but not so good for the social side!

Where do you find the information about 'bulge' years? I.e. years where Southwark anticipates peak demand for school places?

Yet more dumping at Holmes Place today. A child's buggy, several cardboard boxes, bookshelves, a chair etc etc. Renata, there seems to have been no action taken by the management company, please chase this up! -
Thanks buggie, have you got a phone number? I looked briefly online and found... "Prestige Hair Extensions". Which is not the kind of extension I need!

Hello, On behalf of my mother (!), has anyone got a recommendation for a company to do a kitchen side extension? It is a normal victorian terraced house. Also has anyone used a company called London Kitchen Extension Co and can recommend them (or not)? I have personal experience of a company called Buildteam, which was mixed to say the least, so I need some other names... PM me if you prefer, Thanks!
