  1. 101 will not get a quick response. The leaflet says: "If you see anyone behaving suspiciously with a cat, please call 999 (this advice comes directly from the police) immediately and report it. Likewise if you see anyone with a knife or bladed weapon, dial 999." Clearly the police would like to catch the person in the act/equipped to do the act/with a phone with possibly incriminating pictures on, so a 999 call is (with proper grounds for suspicion it is the offender, obviously) definitely the better and more appropriate way to go.
  2. Sorry all, please bear with me while I poke my own eyes out... ...ahh, there, that's better. Please carry on.
  3. What? He's going to change from white to black, or black to white?! A decent description having already been given, I think it is obvious that a crucial piece of ID description should be included and there's no real risk of 'tipping off' a master criminal leading to him trying to change his skin colour/shade.
  4. It would be very helpful if you are able to finish of the description with his skin colour/appearance? If you are squeamish about the words, they are classified as IC1, IC2, IC3 etc. You gave a good description, but of course clothes. hats etc. (in particular) will/can change. Good work on checking this person out and for posting on here. Thanks
  5. Definite thumbs up to James Barber for posting so quickly and offering to chase up.
  6. Removal of any waste as a business requires a license. Parking something that stinky is clearly a public nuisance. Might well also be a criminal offence - depends of course on whether there is a licence and on all the other facts, but it is clearly wrong as well as anti-social. If it's a local business that's doing it, I for one would like to know so I can avoid it or even drop in to complain. The farm mentioned on the truck (Oak Tree Farm, Halstead, Kent) is listed on t'internet as an address for a waste company: J B Waste Management & B K Skip J B Trading (UK) ltd Oak Tree Farm Yard, London Road, Polhill, Halstead TN14 7AB 01959 534027 Household, Commercial and Industrial Waste T Stn, director of JB Trading is Mr John Buswell (I guess that's where the JB comes from?). No idea if that is who the truck belongs to though. Might be worth contacting them - it might just be an unhappy coincidence that the truck is full of waste and they are a waste company registered at the address on the truck - I suppose they might have sold the truck to someone else who hasn't painted out their details yet.
  7. It could be seriously dangerous if it is butchers rotting waste. If you seriously think it is, I suggest a call double quick to environmental health dept. or to the police and get him nicked and cleaned up (if it is as you appear to suspect). Just the side of the truck looks pretty filthy to me! Fine if it's mud, but if it stinks like you say, it could well be crawling with serious nastiness.
  8. For starters they would need a license to carry the waste. https://www.gov.uk/waste-carrier-or-broker-registration
  9. Looks well dodgy. Sorry to hear that. I suggest calling the environmental health dept. and asking them.
  10. I think I'll stick to Father Christmas and The Tooth Fairy. Each to their own.
  11. I don't understand. Why would the Contemporary Glass Society want to give money to a religious group?
  12. At first I had grave doubts about the way in which this campaign was being advanced. Then my interest in it expired. By this weekend I just found it dead boring. I was accosted this weekend walking past Lewis' stand (not by Lewis) outside the Co-op and politely but firmly said that I wasn't interested, drawing a look that came across as a mixture of disbelief and horror. That being said, I don't mind Lewis knowing my name is Paul. Paul Barer, East Dulwich
  13. I agree with the narcissist comment above. I thought she was given quite an easy time in that documentary, but even so Camilla came across as a narcissist in denial. She kept on about the kids, but it seems it was in reality so much about her. It seemed like KC was a personality cult with whatever she said being the law. The trustees (or at least some of them) are a disgrace for failing that charity, its donors and those of its beneficiaries who were truly in need. They appear to me to have disregarded their legal responsibilities to run a charity properly and with proper respect and regard for the fact that people were donating money to it for a proper purpose. Camilla seemed to have nothing but contempt for 'bean counters' (i.e. proper accounts and governance) and no remorse whatsoever - that was the most difficult part to stomach.
  14. It's a nice idea for the larger business. Not sure smaller businesses would be such a market for it though. Also, it doesn't need a separate business for the employer and employee to share the costs 50/50. Not sure that is a USP or particularly viable business model (without more - because with every existing counsellor there could be a 50/50 sharing of cost).
  15. Hmmm. This should be in the for sale section not here. It is obviously a sales pitch, albeit with a free 'taster' to get the punters through the door. I can imagine the sort of hard sell you get. But, even if it is a soft sell, this is definitely a sales pitch.
  16. An Iceland's what?
  17. Those pictures show an obvious massive improvement over the crappy/ugly old building that was there before. It was a real dump. I'll probably only shop there once or twice a week, but I'm still delighted there's also a half decent convenience store opening there too.
  18. Would have DF. It might belong to one of the second hand private car sellers who operate around these parts.
  19. Must of rearranged layout innit.
  20. I agree. I have seen a lot of people being quite rude and/or impatient there (as I'm sure is the case in GP surgeries and A&E departments everywhere - that's certainly what staff seem to be saying anyway). Frankly, the staff are not there to take abuse or rudeness from people when they are just doing their job. Being polite costs nothing and is the only way you should behave anyway. OP - Have you spoken to the manager there? Did you (politely) put your point of view to the person who you thought was being rude? The feedback may help them with their 'service'.
  21. I've pretty much always found them to be fine - bordering on the nice (sometimes very nice). I suspect they have to deal with some right royal pain in the ars*s though and if you come across as difficult then maybe their attitude might be different. Not saying you have done, but if you were, or they were at the time being inundated with difficult patients (so many these days have an exaggerated feeling of 'entitlement'), that might explain a less than friendly service.
  22. Interesting. I stand corrected! Green bin then.
  23. Bin. Blue bin.
  24. Nigello - You must drive a seriously ugly-arsed vehicle!
