Renata, So your council awarded this private sector multinational a contract for 25 years to tend to the waste management needs of the borough, and once they reneged on providing a core service under that contract, your idea of holding them accountable was to send a brief enquiry, internal to the council, and then copy and paste their reply here without any scrutiny? Anyone who cares to use a search engine for a couple of minutes can see the obvious way in which Southwark residents have been stitched up here.

Saff, It's Sunday and therefore unreasonable to expect people to read all that. Is the point just that troughers continue to trough elsewhere when the carbs are removed from their favourite fizzy tipple, or is there something more nefarious whereby sweeteners have harmful physiological effects which carbs don't?

Rendel, As per the OP tax allowances have risen for low earners while they have been tapered for high earners. Inflation at a two year high is not a meaningful statistic unless you can show otherwise; it is still very low by historical standards. The NHS has been heading into slow motion crises since well before the past two governments due to its unsustainable funding structure and low rate of productivity growth in the face of the UK's demanding demographic profile.

Sally, Since the constructive way to have this conversation is to explain our obviously opposing points of view to one another please allow me to speculate as to why you have observed this behaviour. Firstly I think most cyclists performing the manoeuvre you originally described are merely changing lanes, as is required of all vehicles on that route. Regarding your clarification, yes, some road users exhibit hesitation under uncertainty, and change to a trajectory that is different to the one they instinctively set out upon. Such indecision is more likely to manifest when the user is under pressure. The junction we are discussing is a capital example of one where cyclists are under above average pressure, and this is primarily due to previously mentioned by multiple posters in this thread non negligible number of drivers decision to disregard their lack of right of way when accelerating from behind the dashed lines on the east portion of Chadwick should they observe a "gap" when only cyclists are approaching on Bellenden way. I agree with your comment that it is not always the drivers, however in this instance believe that it is the majority of the time. I further believe that when it is the cyclist it is unfortunate because someone has been inconvenienced, however when it is the driver it is unfortunate because someone's life has been at risk.

Sally, Easier still to understand had you used the word "weaving" correctly. Your complaint it seems is about cyclists changing lanes at a point at which they are required to do so by the road lay out. All vehicles wishing to follow the route under discussion are also required to change lanes at that point. None of them are weaving.
-
Sally, To be clear, which road is the P13 stop that you witness this behaviour from on? Cyclists and any other vehicle heading North coming from Bellenden road onto the one way system are required to change into the right hand lane from the left hand one on which they exit Bellenden in order to turn into Lyndhurst way. Is this what you refer to as weaving? or are you suggesting that having changed into the right lane they then weave back into the left and continue up Chadwick? As for having observed cyclists side by side, it is legitimate for one cyclist to overtake a slower one. This will entail them being out of single file for the duration of the manoeuvre, and it will mean that vehicles with faster top speeds will need to wait until the manoeuvre is complete if they wish to overtake the cyclists in a safe manner.

Indiepanda, Take Underhill all the way down, over Barry road, right at the Exhibition onto Crystal Palace road. At this stage you will find yourself alongside quite a few other cyclists, Take Crystal Place road all the way down, crossing East Dulwich Road at the lights onto Adys road, Adys all the way down, right onto Oglander, first left at the end into Maxted, Maxted to the end right onto Bellenden (again, often you will be in a group of 4-6 cyclists at this stage), Bellenden takes you all the way down to Peckham road, however there is a one way system that takes you off and then back on it (via Chadwick, Lyndhurst, then Holly grove - have a look at Maps to see) When at the end of Bellenden wait for the lights to cross Peckham road and enter Melon road, Here some cyclists choose to mount the pavement and take the path by the leisure centre that takes you to the very start of the cycle highway through the park, However you can choose to take Melon road to the end (very short and very rarely cars) right onto Jocelyn street which then also joins the path in the park.

JW, L16, What you are missing is that if there were to be a large surprise in inflation it would lead to mayhem in asset prices. This would be unpopular and so the government and central bank who after all have complete control won't let it happen.
