Having lived in Herne Hill before the noon-2pm was imposed, makes a huge difference as people can now park in the street at any time of the day. Clearly car commenters who just parked when it was free and then hopped on train had to go or find alternatives. Think it was greT and would gladly pay to have it in various streets in ED - HH being in Lamveth think the charge imposed was higher that central London - totally unfair but that is Lambeth for you

No water in Barry road.. Pressure been dropping all week.. We pay for water.. Or lack of it.. Surely they must have learnt after Herne Hill?? Clearly not..

Invited people for dinner - can?t cook
beansprout replied to midivydale's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Gosh, you ladies must have so much time on your hands.. Go back to Delia Smith..unless you are to young to remember.. Easy peasy, and if you have a slow cooker all done and dusted.. Beef Bougonion, chuck it all in.. And enjoy... Green salad and garlic bread.. Yummy -
I have used them in the past and had no problem at all from a tenat's view. No different from renting privately. Provided you have an inventory at the start which is signed and agreed by both parties - no problem. With regard to the deposit, you need to put it into a separate account and confirm to the tenant that this has been done - there is information about this on the website and both parties are protected. You could also place an ad in the newsagent in Dulwich Village. Hope this helps As mentioned on forum website, by law it is Landlord's responsibility to have proof of residency etc for Uk.

Hi, I have recently moved into an all electric flat - not huge at all and currently has economy 7 heating. It and I are not getting along so I am looking at alternatives and panel radiators seem to be the answer. Does anyone have advice? Gas is not an alternative.!! Sadly. Really trying to stay warm and be in a position to use heating when I want - I rent so would to convince my landlords/agent. I am assuming that if panel radiators were an option then one would loose eceonomy 7 rates? No dish washer or washing machine to consider. Thanks all

The London Hospices Choir bid for Number 1 Christmas Slot
beansprout replied to beansprout's topic in The Lounge
Hi, Just wanted to thank all of you for looking and to Admin for allowing me to post this - If you have pre ordered then a HUGE thank you. These hospices cover children as well. Would be nice to have the odd comment. Do please spread the word - Twitter, Facebook etc. Thanks again. -
Hi Folks, Recently 17 hospices in London got together to produce a single and we are hoping to get to the Number 1 slot with the help of the local community, friends etc. I am not computer literate and whilst I appreciate that this is not related to East Dulwich, personally I feel it is a very worthy cause - they do fantastic work. So, please go to You Tube and type in London Hospices Choir and you can see it all. The single is called The Living Years with Paul Carrack, including the video etc. Please pre order and help us. Many thanks.

A friend of mine is moving into a property that has no heating in the bedroom and economy 7 in the lounge. The rooms are aprox 10 x 12 each with double glazing. What would be the most appropriate to buy blow heaters, oil filled or convectors? Assume one can put these on timers? Thanks folks.

Advice sought re a service I am considering offering
beansprout replied to beansprout's topic in The Lounge
Thank to all who have replied. -
Hi, Hope this is in the right place, if not then sorry in advance. I am thinking about offering my services to people who need abit of "me time" - this could be a new Mum who just wants a couple of hours to herself or just some help with general chores, tidying up, preparing dinner, walking the dog etc. I am also thinking about offering my services to the more mature market who would like a friendly, mature person to help out - a general chat and make sure they are Ok, food preparation, accompanied appointment visits, accompanied walks etc. I have a DBS check and can supply references. Would love to be able to do this for free, but have to charge an hourly rate. Just wondering what people thought. Thanks for reading and all comments appreciated.

Local care home for the elderly??
beansprout replied to Marmattee's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I can recommend The Elms in Barry Road - the staff are fantastic - caring, respectful, inter grate with the residents. You can book an appointment to view - best to start now on your search since I know that the majority of them have a waiting list.
