Tried months ago, to get folk together to do something, to say thank you. Been a member of the forum for years and if you had not stepped up, would not be an active forum. Well administered as well. Well according to a newspaper article, Gail’s is opening 10 shops in London,,, yup Dulwich is named 10/5 I seem to recall with others in London opening at 7 am…!, Guess that is to capture workers coming off all night shift. Offering free mince pies until they run out.. So very sad to hear about Romeo Jones… been a customer since the opening, any idea where Patrick has gone or details… please pm me. What is going to be in its place…. Will be around in Jan…umm village is changing….

Changing subject, slightly.. what is taking over from what was cheese shop.. ? Next to other parade of shops.. which is on Dulwich Parade .. near bookshop, estate agent and closed for failing health and safety.. fined as well.. please god, not another place selling food.. opposite Court Lane..

Chain of cafe.. upmarket. One in village.. Been there for at least 3 years. On same side of street as detached houses, one which usually opens her garden for charity. No not burgers, sarnies and cakes, coffee, bread.. eat in or take away.. Further down from pub, same side and between pub and Dulwich Picture Gallery…

Personally, prefer Romeo Jones… staff consistent as is food!

Now a good curry…yummy… beats slaving over a hot stove, endless potatoes for roasties plus carrots and parsnip peeling.. Christmas pudding made with cream or brandy sauce. when one things about it, obscene the amount of food one consumes on the big day… and then the washing up…. Used to cook for 10 so do know what I am talking about…grant you, nice to have company and friendship but now reached the age when I am quite happy having a curry, wandering around in my PH’s all day and eating, watching, doing what I want when I want.. Think actually that Gail’s staff can’t say no not working… sacked I would think but equally catering for people who might be in Dulwich for the holidays and visiting and in an air b n b.. Put of interest, is this the only Gail’s opening? Or are they all opening? Plenty of other places open on the day… sure cafes in city are open…And of course, always MacDonalds..!!!

Can’t say I approve but equally staff can vote with their feet. Cabs to collect and deliver - not bad.Maybe Gail’s know something none of us do… Having said that, sure those that are walking in and around Dulwich might prefer cake, hot drinks etc in a venue that is not a pub with the noise from over loud punters… so guess one waits and sees… Do take some pics or let us know if people are popping in… my guess is yes…

Really? Yes you are probably right as I know from personal experience with Guys… as I claiming travel costs back, that no one told me I could claim! Left hand does not know what right hand is doing regarding admin.. If they charged people for wasting overstretched staff in A& E as in not urgent just might deter people from wasting precious time…. But then you need interpreters, to explain if language is a barrier and admin staff to administer.. Correct me if I am wrong but is there not a train from Denmark Hill or East Dulwich which goes to London Bridge? Would be faster than 2 buses I would have thought. Oh, forgot about Tessa Jowell but thought you needed GP referral in which case, that would be the place to go rather than a bigger hospital. Know there is one in Beckenham and you can call and they will give you an idea as to wait time…..same I hope at TJ…assuming they answer phone.. If one really things about it…too many people in London for example and to few hospitals…

Is there not a minor unit people can go to? To take pressure off A & E ….Is there one nearby? Personally think people who literally waste A and E time for stupid things like hiccups, bad bruise, etc should be charged…. Not emergency at all and a lot of pharmacists can help as well with advice on say migraine, minor sprains, bruising etc…

Park in the street and walk in.. Notices are not that small and certainly readable from car, but guess depends where abouts you are on the site!!!
