  1. Such a pity there is not, apart from Spinach a decent affordable vegetarian.. there is a stall in North Cross Market which does really yummy food and different one in Herne Hill Market… both tell me they can’t afford the rents charged on spaces… I wonder if there is a community space available? Know Kingswood House might be interested but that is such a hike..
  2. On news last night, section on kids with catapults killing all sorts of life…
  3. Have a good meet up with forum
  4. Oh, I met you years ago… doubt you can remember bought stuff from you. Drink meet up aren’t really my thing - know plenty of folk on the forum - several have become friends.
  5. I don’t ’ have the time that you seem to have…and not that good at Facebook nor do I like Why don’t you take the time you have to find your board.. people have given you suggestions…. i was asking for other people’s opinions… Why don’t you and I agree not to comment on each others post or replies.. As for mate, was referring to Malambu posting or reply…
  6. Stuff on Facebook disappears so fast - can only explain what I saw… ask your mate…
  7. Well if it is true, would have thought even with restriction would be better than living in a-room or two in a hotel.. who knows…. Thinking about it - a couple of years ago countries were offering incentives a villages were dwindling or population was as well - oh well we will see what other forum items think…
  8. Just seen on Facebook, hasten to add not sure if real but think so -26 counties offering incentives for families to go to them. Sadly, don’t think singles are included. Spain, Greece, Canada, Ireland etc of course stipulations attached . Were I younger would jump at opportunity - cash incentive…. Some towards refurbishing properties, some have to go to colleege

    Lego….

Hi, Anyone have any that is looking for a home? Can collect on Monday… Tks. More along the lines of making things….
  10. Years ago, I adopted a moggie from Battersea… thought it was 6:7 but was actually 10… great mog though… no checks at all as in home check.. spoke to me about cat ownership, had several before, paid my money and off we went. I do get what they are trying to do totally and agree.. having said that, RSPCA think that is the one, Near cemetery in Norwood, until last year was offering free microchipping & s’thing else… Realistically, really is a drop in the ocean as more cats in London and surrounds… was just totally surprised as to the amount and obv each area is different ….
  11. Sorry have I read this correctly? Almost£250,000 to neuter3,500 moggies? Granted, when neutered a lot less off spring… That sort of money could help elderly, schools - both for books and food for deprived children, carers, a coach for community use…. I am an animal lover but just seems excessive to me when we read in the press how hard some families are coping. Is there not a pill that could be given which would have the same result and be cheaper? What do our European neighbours do? This has been going on for years - why not have launched an appeal when people were more prosperous?
  12. Well you must have a vague idea - perhaps mentioned it to work colleagues? Must know within a month, two weeks ago? Anyway, personally do report it - next time someone might be killed… Up to you thou…
  13. Wasn’t suggesting you took photo - Sod’s Law,no one was around!!! What I meant was others might have taken or indeed, might if spotted taken a photo. Well as you are younger than me, hopefully can run faster! No matter what age, uncomfortable experience…
  14. Abit hard for police to do anything as clearly he is out and about at all times… would help if one had a photo…even taken from afar. Hoping as police are appealing for assistance you reported it..ie tried our local beat officers as opposed to central number and on line or leave message.
  15. Gosh, free meal for two.. peanuts as in your time.. well, I thought the salad bar was great, unlimited non alcoholic drinks, free bread, butter, etc, god knows at least six dressings for salads, plus oil and vinegar to do yourself.. yup, main courses were not fab but equally better than Mac Donald’s burgers and always had veggies options, plus fish, and chicken.. Gather one sadly around Beulah Hill area has also closed…. Certainly would not have beaten the door down to get there, but equally reasonable price with unlimited salad bar plus various desserts at an affordable price for all… Not a fan of Wetherspoons at all - all chucked in microwave but equally can’t knock them for prices and certainly booze is cheap compared to Lordship Lane eateries.. So, what do we all think is going to replace the non exsistent pub? Or would like to see? If Dulwich Estates were not landlords.. I will start — social housing, new health centre, Aldi/Lidl/Iceland…A building that incorporates community areas/ library/ roof top space for planting, rooms let out at affordable prices, let’s go crazy here, along the same theme, opportunity to ask local residents what they would like or, who ever leases it or buys it to have an open day and show to all interested if not a block of flats, plans and suggestions… might a well dream on.. maybe, will be second hand car garage… tent city in containers - least would not be homeless and have your own space, key and lock…
  16. Wow - will do as you say - just find it extraordinary one needs to post something so trivial as this on forum - each to their own. Been a%member for a long time and know the-forum well - bought sold, given things way, had hubs and offered advice…
  17. What ever they decide I would have thought that the skate park would not be staying but really hope I am wrong as in my minds eye, I see the skate park as potential parking spaces after all if it is going to be community, flats, retail units, cafe, etc folks are going to want to have the parking availability - Amir like the parade of shops opposite. if the skate park goes then I think it is Dulwich Estate obligation to find another suitable area… a lot of community spirit and hard work went into developing the skate park and the youngsters should be very proud of what they have done and achieved.
  18. Years ago, got my ears pierced, alcohol on site, gun ..done.. Simple.. Gosh, surely your daughter of mothers can recommend - do you really need to post on forum? Or maybe you home school whatever.. still recovering from shock, posted along the lines of, advice needed about adopting/ buying a dog…. Guess I am now at a age, where I should just keep quiet and pass no comment and read postings like a “soap” - cheaper than tv licence…
  19. You know what? Interesting how memories are triggered.. And what memories.. what I love about this forum, are several things.. support, advice, buy and sell, free stuff.. Glad as well, that one each one looks after each other..in their own way… Thank you so much, new admin person for wha you do, and taking up the helm, when, this forum was possibly going to close…
  20. Bromley is ok but in the last year, shopping centre now has a lot of security measure due to bags being snatched and assaults in or around area in broad daylight - another area where before, felt fine now more alert.
  21. Well if not housing with a bit of social attached, perhaps a local supermarket or a restaurant/ chain food place. Can’t think of anything else that would for the bill unless a private dentist or even something like Tessa Jewel to serve that section. Pity that skate park might go - guys and gals put so much work into it but have to move with times. Community centre? Anyone have any other ideas? Nice to explore….. Meant Jowel - not Jewel…
  22. That totally passed me by- agree with you totally - think she must be going thru a bad patch - as Jazzer has mentioned somewhere else, has totally changed her tune but saying that, we all have bad days and need to get things off our chest. Moving on….never been a fan of Croydon myself - use to have to relocate clients there years - like everywhere some nice parts and some not so nice. Not a place I would go to for a mooch or shopping myself.
  23. Would have hoped for social housing….
  24. Oh that is sad - always great value and fab salad bar…might google Orleans Smokehouse - rings very slight bells.
  25. Thanks for that….
