  1. Long term Three customer here, if you are in Goose Green, the coverage is awful, 4G only works once in a blue moon in this area too. If you complain to 3, they will give you a home booster, but that's even more radio waves and if you are sensitive to that sort of thing, not ideal.
  2. I just don't understand. Have lived in ED since 1980 and we've never, ever had a councillor that has worked as hard, as passionately and engaged as much with the local community as you, James. Am sad, shocked, angry and confused in equal measure, I call for a recount! I'd also like to thank you for all you have done and can't begin to count the number of improvements you've directly been involved in the local area.
  3. I went to the gym for the first time today using the free scheme, almost had a heart attack using the showers afterwards as the water was freezing cold, was not warned of this at reception, who knew about the issue when I asked about if this was normal afterwards. This could be really dangerous for some people, especially after working out or swimming.
  4. Personally, I have never had any interest in football and have never been to see DH play. BUT I will be there to show my support; the team have brought a wonderful energy to the area in recent years, the youth playing and training there come out full of positivity [sic] and it's just really nice seeing the fans, both local and visiting on game day around the area. Shame on Meadow!
  5. Saw a car had eaten the mid road barrier there, was still a Police car on the road around 7pm along with an ambulance, both had gone by 10pm, drivers often behave badly overtaking around there, maybe the case today?
  6. Sorry about your bike getting stolen; I don't own a vehicle myself but I know people get attached to bikes and cars so it's not just a bit of property that's taken, there's a lot of heart and soul in them too. A lovely neighbour of ours was a massive motorbike fan, to the extent that he always kept two of the same bikes, one for commuting, one for racing - they were pretty meaty bikes- sadly one day some nasty people found them [he had a hedge hiding them from street view] and they were stolen. When replaced, he got enough back from the insurance to buy another pair -though I doubt enough for all the mods and upgrades he did- then they were soon stolen again, and again, and again. After this happened I think 5 times it broke him I think, despite him installing some major security, and he ended up moving outside of London. I hate that as this area has become a fair bit better off, the crime rate has soared and the only police we see are the once a week bobby on the street or when called to an incident. Our local police, when we had them were great people in my experience. Hope you get your bike back.
  7. I highly recommend Child and Child solicitors http://www.childandchild.co.uk I thought I was going to lose my mind going through a complicated probate, in the end the whole thing left me deeply affected, but after speaking to a few solicitors, including a local one, who seemed horrible, they got everything sorted, were incredibly supportive and very reasonably priced. Look after yourself, if you are at the EDMC they have a very good psychiatric nurse who can help you make sure your mental health is kept in check - do not ignore your own state of mind during this period.
  8. It's not hateful stirrings - pretty much every "beggar" on the streets are professional and paying for their pitch. Have a look around Guy's Hospital, you can see "beggars" with the same setup around each corner, you'd have to be blind to think these people are genuine. This has caused genuine homeless in need to be in even worse situations than when begging became organised on a wider scale than in the West End. Like Jennys said, give to a charity, if you can, I give to Celia Hammond and the PDSA personally as animals can't help themselves.
  9. The Big issue seller told me they are brothers, have seen both of them finish their "shift" and change into much better clothes on the same spot and then walk off counting their earnings. So many professional beggars nowadays sadly.
  10. Or you've been up playing Thimbleweed Park too late and The Signals are getting to you?
  11. I can't offer you any advice on this, but my dad used to have a patch in the allotment near Dulwich Golf Club, he managed to get it after only a few months as someone had gotten too old to garden anymore and I think the bloke he spoke to there simply liked him so he jumped the queue a bit. It was really good for him, he had his own bit of space to escape to, look after and till the land, grow stuff, have bonfires, bring us up there every now and then. Just what he needed to de-stress really. Good luck with finding a place, I'm sure it will do you a world of good : )
  12. Local people gather together to help cats, that's what makes East Dulwich special. See here for evidence: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?5,1899302
  13. Sounds like you are best off using a Linux Live CD or bootable USB drive to recover your files and reformat in all honesty. Pretty easy to do.

  15. Maybe leave them a banana protector they can keep the skin in until near a bin? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Banana-Protector-Case-Outdoor-Lunch-Fruit-Box-Storage-Holder-Banana-Guard-UK-/332270779559

  17. Our beautiful cat Stella has been missing for almost 5 days now, she has been ill lately due to an overactive thyroid gland which she is taking medicine for, but which has left her much skinnier than her normal weight. She was feeling very weak when she went out on Wednesday morning. Please could anyone on Crawthew Grove, or the side of Worlingham Road that backs on to it please check their back gardens for her? We are fearing the worst, but want to find her as she is much loved.
  18. You are really lucky, we have them too and they are no bother at all and its really sad when they die. They cheer me up every time I see them and even more when one buzzes just past me on its way to do something.
  19. I have a friend who works in a second hand camera store so will ask him to look out, they are pretty strict about the stuff they take in. It really sucks about what happened, I hope you are able to get over it, am really angry and sad whenever I see one of these threads. Just glad you and your family are OK.
  20. Hither Green to Goose Green. It's a lovely bit of furniture, have missed 3 of the same going free on here, they cost about ?50 new, but then Ikea charge almost that for delivery! Thanks Jules, I'll ask around.
  21. Thanks for the helpful replies, I don't drive so hiring a van is out. I'll get asking for quotes, thanks again!
  22. I've seen a lovely bit of IKEA furniture on the forum going free, its 149cm long, I don't have a car, so was wondering if anyone could please advise me on the cheapest way to collect it? Any advice is most welcome as I'm currently out of work so cheap and cheerful is of the order : )
  23. Just found a Natwest Card outside M&S on Lordship Lane, handed it in to their customer service desk, hope you find it!
  24. Edit: It can't be your cat, but yours has a doppelganger living near me, must be from the same litter as they look pretty much identical. I really hope your cat comes home safely soon. Ooh, this is one of two cats who are often seen being petted on Frogley Road, I saw her on Friday night, she knows me by scent I guess and normally always approaches me to be fussed when I call her. On Friday night, about 8pm I think, she came towards me, then ran away, she looked distressed and not her normal self. I'll look out for her as she is such a lovely cat.
