Who are we to dictate to anyone else in our society what to wear or what not to wear? If a person wears a garment for religious reasons, then so what? If the burka alone is prohibited then it is discriminatory. It will also marginalise a section of society that already feels unfairly treated. When we say that the burka is demeaning to women, we are applying our own predudices. As I said in my previous post, the argument over what is deemed as demeaning can easily be used for garments such as mini skirts. And I for one would not wish those to be banned ;-)
