  17. Look carefully at his eyes... He's not actually looking at the girl - he's spotted a bag of crisps being eaten by a 5 year old next to her! Much more tempting...! Also, on that M&S link showing the photo of the vest, I'm intrigued by the position of the grey bar with the word 'enlarge' on it..... sorry, just my cess-pit of a mind at work! ;-)
  18. Well you are quite right LM, I am totally oblivious to the '1000 spot'! Try harder next time.... x
  19. This story highlights the consequences of neglect. Its very sad. Caring for the elderly is a responsibility we all should share. I've been thinking about volunteering to help the elderly in our area for some time and the effects of this cold spell has prompted me to do something about it, instead of just thinking about it.
  20. Sorry Penguin! I didn't see your previous post before writing my own - at least we are both in agreement!
  21. I would be very surprised if this site was a roman burial ground. The Romans traditionally buried the dead just outside the town Walls, which is why there were roman remains found in spitalfields. The cemetries would also be close to main roads. I'm not aware of any roman roads or roman settlements or forts in this area (although I may be mistaken). Most roman activity south of the river focused around Borough and along the modern A2 through Greenwich. If there were any ancient settlements on Dawsons Heights, it would possibly be Iron Age due to it's dominating position in the area. I don't want to spoil a good ghost story though!
  22. Very bonny!
  23. JTT, are you Dick Cheney here on vacation?

At least he hadn't frozen to death, which was my first (very upsetting) thought...!
