  1. Yes - at each of the exhibitions of the proposed plans. The school says it will have a transport plan which I'm guessing will be similar to that in the planning application, but the two need not be the same.

There will likely be a major impact on local roads when the long-term site is up and running. This does not mean I'm 'against' the school, it means that we have to look at the detail of the planning application. Once it moves from the temporary site, most pupils will be very local, so there will not necessarily be a great impact from them being driven to school (unlike the local private schools which take in from far and wide), but what about the teaching and other staff? How many of the 140 will use public transport? And what will the school do to discourage driving among staff and visitors? These are perfectly legitimate questions for locals to ask.
  3. Formal consultation is now open (until August 11th) concerning the planning application for the proposed health centre on East Dulwich Grove. All relevant documents etc are on Southwark?s planning site: http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=_STHWR_DCAPR_9567485 16/AP/2747 | Erection of a health centre within a part 2, part 3-storey building to accommodate medical services and related uses (Use Class D1), access, parking and servicing areas, hard and soft landscaping and associated groundworks. | DULWICH HOSPITAL, EAST DULWICH GROVE, LONDON, SE22 8PT Although this and the proposed school are on the same large site, there are different issues involving each planning application, so I've posted the details in two separate threads. One initial observation ? there's not much time in which to respond to either application, especially with people away on holiday.
  4. Formal consultation is now open (until August 12th) concerning the planning application for the proposed secondary school on East Dulwich Grove. All relevant documents etc are on Southwark?s planning site: http://planbuild.southwark.gov.uk:8190/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=_STHWR_DCAPR_9567474 16/AP/2740 | Demolition of existing ward buildings and nurses accommodation and development of site to provide a new secondary school within the retained and refurbished 'Chateau' building fronting East Dulwich Grove and in a series of new buildings and extensions up to 5 storeys high, comprising teaching and administration spaces, dining and indoor sports hall, multi-use games area, accesses, car parking and servicing areas and landscaping (Use Class D1). | DULWICH HOSPITAL, EAST DULWICH GROVE, LONDON, SE22 8PT
  5. I think Louisa means the particular use of it, when the "Wow!" is addressed as if to an invisible friend, suggesting, "I'm astonished that my parents have the cheek to ask me not to do that" etc. It is very annoying.
  6. Southwark Council has extended leIsure centre opening hours to 10pm as from july 31st. Good news. http://www.southwarknews.co.uk/news/southwark-council-extends-leisure-centre-opening-times/
  7. Sue Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > And didn't Camberwell Green get lottery funding, > or have I mixed that up with something else? Southwark News reported it as ?1m for the park revamp. It's difficult to say where all that came from, as it was bundled up in the ?13m revamp of Camberwell including the library etc. TFL certainly gave a slice for the whole scheme, but I'm pretty sure most of that million for the Green would have come from Southwark's Parks And Open Spaces budget. They certainly took the credit for it :-)

No you can't. There were security people there on Tuesday for the friendly v Charlton. They were checking bags for booze. I think the club doesn't want to upset the council, given that they're looking to get a licence for an outside bar to relieve congestion in the main bar. In addition to tomorrow afternoon's friendly against Millwall, there's one against Crystal Palace on Tuesday evening. The other pre-seasons are away.
  9. Alan Medic Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > People at work going on about the number of days > it is until they go on holiday. Please be reassured I'm not one of those people. I was merely mentioning that I'd be away and so wouldn't be able to attend one of their pointless and dull meetings. And yes, the 'sleeps' thing enrages me too. Must cool down...
  10. The inevitable question when telling a colleague that I'll be going on holiday: "Anywhere nice?" Er, no, I'm going somewhere horrible.

On the National Rail site as taking 38 mins to London Bridge with two changes.

And right on cue the Beeb is reporting: "Only pre-February Labour members get a vote Posted at 21:03 Only people who joined Labour before February will be able to vote in the leadership contest, BBC chief political correspondent Vicki Young says. It looks like anyone who joined after then will have to pay an extra ?25 to become a "registered supporter" - and will get a two-day window in which to sign up." Lots of lovely dosh...
  13. But isn't Brexit the mandate, unwelcome though that might be? Otherwise we'd have had the absurd position of Cameron staying on as he'd got a 'mandate' last year, but having to carry out a fundamental policy with which he profoundly disagreed. I suspect most people calling for an election simply want to overturn the result of the referendum ? which wasn't sprung on the country as a surprise, but was part and parcel of the Tory manifesto.
  14. If your Oyster is registered, you can get a full pdf statement of your journey details online. Works with a monthly card as well as PAYG.
  15. James Barber Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Then we need to sort out Melbourne Grove 9north) > rush hour congestion. Wait a minute, one minute you want to calm it, now you want to 'sort out' the congestion? Which one is it? This is a recipe for spending money on every road that doesn't have some notional ideal speed. Madness. Let's not spend the shrinking council cashpile on stuff that doesn't need doing.
  16. The northern section already is calm, thanks to parking both sides which does not allow two lanes of traffic to flow. Hence queues building up in EDG. It's hard to think that only recently this was a bus route with no complaints. Please don't spend any money on it.
  17. "I want my country back". Both sides of the debate. It is your country. It hasn't gone anywhere.
  18. Indeed. Just shows what noisy people can get. Ridiculous.
  19. I'd go train to London Bridge then Jubilee Line to Wembley Park.

No necessarily. Knowing how Fusion are run, they probably didn't cooperate at all in the handover, in which case there's nothing much the new company can do.
  21. 6 signatures to go to make it 10,000.
  22. The new management starts tomorrow: https://www.everyoneactive.com/centre/dulwich-leisure-centre/
  23. In, but more reluctantly than I'd have liked.
  24. Speechless. Makes me quite glad I've got used to not going there given how long it's been shut.
