  8. Essential route - but to repeat others' observations, its frequency leaves a lot to be desired in the evenings and on Sundays. The evening/night timetable is a magnificent work of fiction...
  9. The Birmingham Six *lost* the 1988 appeal on which The Sun was commenting. The Birmingham Six were technically still guilty. Most commentators saw their sudden release as a vindication of those who'd fought for their innocence (even though the judge did not say that they were innocent) and it would have been truly shocking for a newspaper to say, well we'd have strung 'em up... and I bet The Sun didn't.

One day The Sun ran a headline ?Looney MP backs bomb gang?." Not quite what you wrote... And that editorial was written after they lost an appeal in 1988. They weren't released for another three years. I'm no apologist for The Sun, but you should get your facts straight.

  21. Thanks for the offer, but 'no' on both counts. A hassle it can be, but it's not worth the cash or pushing the problem onto someone else.
  22. Not so - these are private schools, so I doubt they travel any less distance than those you have from "outside the area". And I'm surprised you call Melbourne Grove a "dumping ground" - looks quite nice when I walk down it every day ;-)
  23. We live very near two schools, which causes problems with parking, dropping off and congestion, but we expect it. The schools were there when we moved here 15 years ago and, even though the problems have got worse over that time, I don't expect anyone else to have to deal with it.
  24. garwba: how about if a strong majority of those affected by any knock-on voted against it. How would you feel then?
  25. ... apart from, if the problem is as big as you say, on those who live adjacent to the zone.
