Wow, caramacs I remember them, they are still on the market and I feel no shame in saying I bought a caramac easter egg for myself last easter and didn't share! lol! No Ted, just shove it all in! ha! but Twix's now, they are a different matter, firstly I carefully eat the top bit of caramel off, then very delicately munch the chocolate all around the sides of the biscuit then lastly munch the bickie bit, sad, yes I know, but has always been my Twix routine. What a lovely brisk morning it is, slightly on the nippy side but then again it is November, (oops going off thread, my own one!) :))

People who have worked within that establishment (Social Services) are speaking of levels of incompetence within that sector, and they have worked with them, perhaps they are just disgruntled employees eh!

I could have sworn it was three separate Doctors reported that they suspected abuse to Social Services or are they not professional enough not quite Jo Public are they?

As more and more details emerge of the levels of incompetence displayed by Social Services in this matter, I stand at a loss as to how so many people can get on my case about my thoughts and feelings towards the behaviour of social services where Baby P is concerned and say they are not even slightly to blame.

Didn't know children were entitled to vote......and if their names appear on an electoral list, then what were their parents on?

Yeah Tony London Subs, kinda did quite unintentionally, stir up a bit of a hornets nest over there, first thread as well, doesn't bode too well, don't think I'll be doing that again in a hurry, I was a bit overcome with emotion at the time and wished I'd given myself a chance to calm down first before I put my pedal to the metal, as it were, then it kinda just got carried away and there was a free for all! Kinda put me off when people started posting graphic details, so I pulled out. Have to say Van Diesal has lovely and sultery looking eyes, Kalamity. I like Sylar off of Heroes too, same dark "come ravish (for want of a better word) me" eyes, Sorry not everyones cuppa tea, but its the eyes that have it for me!

That is extreme, but they wouldn't do it again though would they! and the thought of a serious punishment or proper consequences for their actions (although I don't actually condone the death penalty) might deter those who are even contemplating repeating these attrocious crimes. To be honest you get more time in prison for defrauding the Tax Man, insurance scams and bank thefts (well anything to do with money really) than you do for killing/abusing a child, how can you not expect people to have a knee jerk reaction? So no-one (apart from the parents + friend) is at fault then? you can't seriously be saying that

I don't think there were 60 visitors, I think there were 60 visits recorded with the child and mother. Maybe they are losing sleep, or maybe, as may possibly be the case (as only letters of reprimand have been sent out to the parties involved so far), trying to brush it all under the carpet, hope it all goes away, they might even look for a scapegoat within their own organisation if they can in fact even bother to go that far, other than that it will do the usual rounds, statements will be made i.e. "this must never happen again", blah blah, "we have to review our policies" have heard it all before! each time something like this happens, they just refuse to take any responsibility full stop.

No, but if I went in there sixty times and I saw the child, dirty, dishevelled, bruised, upset, distressed (erm, broken spine and broken ribs, he must have been in absolute agony and have been crying at some point) yes I would. I'm sorry if my opinion has upset the Social Workers on this site, but there you go, my opinion.

Yes maybe the mother did lie to Social Services, (and also apparently covered bruises with chocolate each time Social Services visited?? to hide the fact he was bruised) but come on, at some point the penny should have dropped somewhere that things weren't quite right.

The child in question was on the "At Risk" register, which I assume to mean she was at risk of being abused, how the hell did they miss that? how the hell, in this day and age and with all the "negative hysterical media coverage" following other recent cases, fail to spot the child was being severely abused, this was apparently reported to Social Services by the child's own part time childminder who'd raised concerns, you'd think that after all the other reports on cases like this and the amount of children who have been killed they'd have learned their lesson, you would have had a case for screaming "don't blame Social Services it's not their fault" had the child not supposedly been under their "protection",
