  1. I have to say I don't trust anyone who works in the mail delivery system anymore, my sister (rather naively on her part) thought that if she put money in my card for my birthday, and made it recorded delivery it would somehow reach me safely, I told her she would have had more of a chance of just sending it under normal post in a brown envelope, as recorded delivery of a card is generally red rag to a bull as the workers within the mail system know there is going to be money in it, it arrived at mine wrapped in plastic with a note on it saying that this was how the card had been sent and that it had been tampered with!!! I then quickly phoned my sister who then confirmed that she had put ?100 in the card rather stupidly thinking it would be covered by recorded delivery, and that she had been sent it via a post office counter and handed it over to the tiller, I immediately chased the postman down who said I'm afraid that is how it arrived at our depot, good luck on finding out who the culprit is.......... I said it could have only been someone within the post office who committed the theft, yes theft, not just some perchance happening upon a wad of notes on the floor, he said all that will happen is that the matter will get bounced back from department to department as each one will swear blind that is the state it arrived at, he said next time maybe used registered post as it was insured then. So yes I agree with you they are crooks, but it didn't stop me making an official complaint which got me nowhere and I was bascially sent a letter that said had I sent it in the correct manner this would not have happened, I said it must be nice to know you employ such upstanding honest members of society in your company and basically my sister got the same from her neck of the woods, as if that is the normal behaviour of normal people faced with the mind blowingly difficult challenge of being honest.:(
  2. Well, if he really needed to be in, or was worried about getting the sack for taking sick time off, I would have kind of sympathised, he didn't need to be there, it was more a stab at heroism and a "look at how ill I am but I'm still here getting on with my job" kind of thing, the worse thing was he barely got anything done anyway, messed up on a few things then overheard me calling him John of Arc!!! so now we have the situation where instead of it just being him absent from work sick, there are going to be 8 people off and no-one to run the office between the xmas and new year period so he's basically shot himself in the foot, granted the germs could have been caught anywhere, but we have air conditioning in our small offices and no access to windows or fresh air so really he is going to be the obvious target for blame. Just hoping it will pass quickly, had a temperature of 39.8 this morning, last time I had a temp that high was when I was a kid! hoping the worst of it passes before xmas
  3. I'm sorry but gonna have to have a pop at the Martyrs of this world (well one guy in my office in particular) who believe that by going into work with raging flu symptoms, sweating & coughing all over everybody and showering them with their germs as opposed to erm.. staying home, and then expecting tea and sympathy or worse still a pat on the back for making it in, well, to hell with you, I along with 7 other people in our office have now come down with your illness, merry fecking christmas to you too! Well thats what I wished I could have said, but on account he is my boss there was not much doing, so I shall screech it into cyber space, (hoping he doesn't use this forum too!) ;-)
  4. Unfortunately have to work, how tight is this, our firm are not holding their xmas party until January!!! Bah humbug!!
  5. Sean Macgabhann Did you catch the Darkest Tour Filth Fest at the Forum in London Monday night, if you are into that type of music? Cradle of Filth, Gorgoroth, Moonspell, and Sceptic Flesh, (early xmas pressie) fantastic gig, and Moonspell and Sceptic Flesh surprisingly very very good, but Cradle of Filth topped them!
  6. So exactly who are your rooting for in your arguments Wag? the cyclists or the car driver? you seem to jump from side to side as and when it suits your post. I think with a bit more consideration on both sides, from drivers and cyclists, the World would be a happier place >:D< but unfortunately it never works that way. I have neither car not bicycle, and unfortunately have to rely on public transport to get around, oooooh, those damned users of public transport, always sitting on the outside seats so you have to climb over them, always breathing down your neck on the tube, inconsiderate b@stards if you ask me!
  7. Don't get me wrong, if there is no danger to pedestrians, I don't actually see a problem with people, especially children, being allowed to ride on pavements, etc. or jumping red lights if there are no pedestrians in sight or it is 2am in the morning, if the cyclist wants to take a risk with his or her own life jumping a red light, thats entirely up to them, but what I do object to is cyclists basically riding around trying to dodge pedestrians at crossings when they do not have the right of way then getting indignant and shouting abuse if anyone dares be in their way, sanctimonious tw@ts if you ask me. Saw a woman get knocked over at such a crossing and the cyclist just rode off with his middle finger in the air when the surrounding pedestians hurled abuse at him for jumping the lights. I'm sure the woman who was knocked over would have loved to have something bigger to moan about, but unfortunately she was too busy practically getting knocked unconscious as he'd clipped her and she fell to the floor banging her head on the concrete!!!
  8. Barry Road, :) Nope and I am in no way related whatsoever to the young lady TonyLondonSubs is speaking about.
  9. My take on cyclists is that they take their lives in their hands every time they jump on their bikes, I couldn't do it, way too dangerous out there, but at the same time I have on more than one occasion been nearly knocked down at crossings/on pavements when they illegally jump lights/ride on pavements. I am afraid to say that I have also found that some of my friends who are now avid cyclists into work as opposed to car drivers now are much the same as those of my friends who gave up smoking, when they smoked it was fine with them and feck everyone else they upset with their smoke, but once they gave up became the loudest ranters and protesters when it came to other people smoking near them, even outside, I have friends who have never smoked in their lives but who always make way less noise and less indignant stampings of feet than ex smokers, the same as a few of them who now refuse to drive their cars into work and take their bikes , who previously thought nothing of tooting their horns at cyclists to "speed them on a bit!!", unbelievable! Edited to say I am not for one moment saying that anyone on this forum displays this kind of behaviour.
  10. I believe in father Christmas (by Greg Lake) that always gets my Xmas spirit going! Here you go, just a little xmas cheer >:D< http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=nop1sMvYqi8&feature=relate
  11. Have done that myself on many an occasion, (usually followed by the word, "Wot is it made of gold? I want it dancing for me at that price!", there is something wrong about having to basically take out a mortgage to get a decent piece of meat nowadays that really bothers me (and have you seen the price of a lump of cheese!), so we are now going veggie/semi veggie, so its not only old aged pensioners who do that anymore!
  12. I walked behind a guy in a car park once when I was a teenybopper, he dropped a roll of what looked like ?20 notes, I immediately picked them up and chased him to give them back, he snatched them out of my hand without a word of thanks, as he walked off I yelled "its ok you're welcome" and he told me to feck off, couldn't believe it, I live in hope that something not very nice happened to him! Hey Sue, it weren't your ex was it! ha! nah, could'nt have been, he tipped the person a tenner, or did he........;-)

    Bull

Have to agree with Quinnie on this one, not a big fan at all, although I really love it when the bullfighters get the tables turned on them and the bull manages to stick a horn in there before he is pounced on by more people and slaughtered, its an unfair fight, the bull never wins, so think they should call it bull slowly being slaughtered and terrified to death as opposed to bull fight as the name suggests the bull has an equal chance of winning.

  15. Hi there, is there another way in which donations can be made, am a bit para about making payments online at this time of the year, do you have an address cheques can be sent to? Promise it won't bounce!! ;-)
  16. ;-) I have to say, kind of contradictory when you look on it, on the one hand it says one of my strengths is that I'm generous and on the other in the summary it says I'm really stingy, am the most generous person I know! and of course modest with it.... persistent yet lazy!
  17. Have to say am Taurean and quite a lot of the traits associated with my sign are actually true where I am concerned, if I'm being honest, but not all of them, Taurus Strength Keywords: - Dependable - Persistent - Loyal - Patient - Generous Taurus Weakness Keywords: - Stubborn - Laziness - Possessive - Self-indulging Taurus in a Nutshell: Taurus is the one who has immense perseverance, even when others have given up, the Taurus rages on. Solid and persistent, just like the bull, which is Taurus' well suited symbol. Taurus's have a well known reputation for being stubborn, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The stubborn streak can cause Taurus to butt heads and conflict with other strong character types. Taurus are not fond of change. They like the familiar and routine comfort of life. Taurus is easy going and not one to pick a fight but should some poor souls attempt to provoke Taurus, the wrath will be known, for they have a temper underneath the calm surface. Taurus are very responsive to their surroundings. They like decorations, color, anything that appeals to all the senses. Taurus like possessions and the Taurus home is nicely decorated with lots of things. Taurus are down to earth, they do not like gaudy, flashy or over the top things. They prefer comfortable and creative settings and objects. Taurus likes security, in every aspect of their lives from home, to love, to career. Taurus can be secretive, opinionated and stingy. Taurus tend to be self-indulgent and lazy, Taurus are master procrastinators of the astrology zodiac! They do however have a strong, persistent drive that comes to life when they chose, and no one would ever know that they are lazy. The secret to this is that their laziness is pushed aside when it comes to themselves
  18. Wispa gold, (does extremely good impression of Homer Simpson's drooling noise, sorry don't know how to spell that one!) have the most exquisite very soft caramel/soft toffee? bit added to them, it all just adds to the delectable mouth watering velvety chocolate......
  19. Hahahaha! (although I don't know about the standing in the corner and sobbing thingy, not my cuppa tea!);-) and as for the "KERBBBBAAAMMMMM........" smacks a little of the old batman series if you ask me, "Pow" "bang" "crash" Ooooer, am I showing my age now? Awww, can't I play dress up tooo? pretty please? People say I look like Xena anyways!
  20. :)-D Mmmm... might come to the next edf drinks sess after all! hehe!
  21. Have to say, I have been known to partake of the praline flake variety of choc too on many an occasion, (how I'm not the size of a house I don't know!) :))
  22. Ant Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I prefer Roses to Celebrations. The latter seems > less of a treat cos it's just stuff you eat the > rest of the year anyway, only smaller. Which is > crap. Completely with you on that one Ant! Though I am more a dairy milk box kind of woman, love the chocholate nutty ones myself, (which is why I'm probably on this forum myself ....boom,boom!!!) http://www.veganessentials.com/catalog/boom-choco-boom-chocolate-bars-by-enjoy-life.htm
  23. Yup for about a year, I felt too petty to actually write in to the company and ask "where have all the Wispa bars gone" and also have been using substitute chocolate for all that time, Aero was kind of the nearest thing to it texture wise!
