I must add that as much as it was lovely to have afternoon tea in central London, the time it takes to travel there/back is very long and slow for the distance, it took is 1.5_2hrs each way by bus,, next time am happy to do a local afternoon tes

Thank you, such good and varied recommendations, we couldn't get the wolesely and Valerie patisserie in oxford street as fully booked at the time we were visiting, so we ended up in scoff and Banter couple of doors down from Valeries. It was lovely, I would like to visit some more of the placees thst were recommended,, dallhouse looks like it would be a good local.option. Thanks again.

Recent news that trains from Dalston is running 24 hours..i thought great but stopping at new cross gate..,if only they went down to forest hill to help serve Dulwich area.

Buses are a main option to fill in gap to get to the train stations and a 30 min half mile journey is no joke..
