  1. I had acupuncture for allergic rhinitis for about 6 months and it definitely helped that. I only stopped because of the cost as I got pregnant and wanted to watch my pennies. My opinion on acupuncture based solely on my own experience is that at the very least it works for your general well being and this can only be helpful. I went to Claire at the therapy rooms above health matters.
  2. I think hosepipe ban would apply to the garden rather than the living room! I have a load of shower curtains I didn't end up using so if you want to save the trip to rye lane pm me!
  3. Bath oil? You can get one put together at neals yard, not too spenny. And a matching hand cream.i got this from work and liked it.
  4. Lots of towels, already out so nobody has to look for them. Possibly an extra helper / birth partner to run around getting the pool to the right temp at the moment of birth. I was lucky in that a student midwife was there and worked her butt off boiling water etc. Cover your sofa or anything else that you might be examined on or plan to lounge on afterwards. Our sofa took a battering. Also the route from pool to said sofa. I had an inflatable pool but imagine a rigid one might have been good to brace against? Not sure it matters but perhaps someone will have experienced both! And we had a rug underneath.
  5. Ikea is a good bet. I love ours, it fits shedloads of stuff in it. The main thing I'd say is get something you can repurpose. If the decor needs changing fr example. We've got some rickety wardrobes which are in their 3rd life with new paint and handles.
  6. Yum Search kiwifruit recipes rather than kiwi and look for Australian and NZ sites I think they work in cakes And really nice in smoothies with honey and banana
  7. The flint stones The Simpsons 50's family (my sister and I have a 50's housewife costume if you want to try then it's just suit for dad etc) Family of cats /dogs/other animals Serial killers (they look just like everybody else, a la Wednesday Addams)
  8. Ha! Yes enormous but at least I can see the detail. Verds, I would love t test drive your pram. Will pm you!
  9. Hi, We are going to Cambodia with our 11 month old (or he will be at the time) I'm planning to buy a pushchair for the trip which involves a few other places but Cambodia is the roughest, pram-wise. We will use a sling for the sights but would like a pram for sleeps, around the streets of the towns etc. I'm looking at the micralite Superlite - if you have any experience of this pram over rough / bumpy terrain I'd be interested to hear how you got on. Or recommendations of other prams you know of. Thanks in advance.
  10. I'd love to see my baby attempt the haka with all his lack of limb control Haven't been there yet need to put it in the diary!
  11. Oh I forgot oma rapiti! Peko peko peko .......
  12. Can't comment on the portrait but I second the passport photo. Very fast, done before I knew it.
  13. I wish I had one hypnobirthing to help me get focused. But found it much better once the gas and air arrived.
  14. Excuse my spelling but Paunga is black Manga is too A e I o uuuuuuuuuuuuu
  15. Re bf in public... Don't feel silly about taking your bf cushion if you need it. I took mine to the gardens cafe in case the couches were busy and it made feeding much easier! I'm not very discreet, I At 3months old I still have to have a bare boob to get him on properly but I just cover up once he's on.
  16. Hello Most of the group are babies apparently so I will go along in a couple of weeks as soon as I have a free Saturday. The website is http://www.kohanga.co.uk/eventCalendar.html I spelled it wrong... I think I need these sessions more than my baby does! Hopefully I will be able to expand my repertoire beyond 'one day a taniwha'
  17. I've emailed to ask if 3 months old is too young to join in! It looks really nice with a pot luck lunch afterwards. Plus a hangi in the summer last year! Hope they will do again this year.
  18. Hello, Wondering if there are any kiwi families that attend the te kohanga reo sessions at NZ house on a Saturday?
  19. Hello Went to look for a book on baby signing and there are so many I got confused. Can anyone recommend one? Thanks Amy
