  2. Greetings, Michel Faber's Latest book. I have seven copies of this not yet published book for any takers if you are prepared to review it and it may be some of you will have a video interview. It's called "The Book of Strange New Things" and these copies are not proof read so are unusual and may be fun. First come first served. Thanks Chick.

  11. Thanks to everyone who came to the last meeting. Our next meeting is on 17th September at 8.00pm in the Clockhouse. Our chosen book is Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil by John Berendt. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midnight_in_the_Garden_of_Good_and_Evil I met up with the partner of Bianca Son yesterday. Sadly Bianca died suddenly on 30th June. Bianca had just finished her PhD at Soas and was looking forward to having more time for activities such as the book club. She had a very interesting life and I will send out a brief synopsis soon. Hope to see you all soon. Chick

  19. Dear Book clubbers, I invited Michel Faber to our meeting but sadly he cant come. He did send this though: Dear Chick, I don't mind you asking at all, and please send my best wishes to everyone at the book club and tell them that I would have loved to be there. On Wednesday I am actually booked to attend a Canongate event in Ladbroke Grove but I think it's highly likely I will have to cancel this at the last minute. So maybe I should have asked before.
