  1. I wish I had read this thread before. I woke up with a bad case of conjunctivitis in both eyes this morning (had it before so fairly certain of the diagnosis). I went into Boots on the way to work to get something over the counter. The pharmacist there was really helpful and after taking a look at me said it was quite severe and suggested I saw my GP. So, I called at lunchtime to be told a clinician (is that even a real job) would call me back to ask me some questions. I explained I had seen a pharmacist and was acting on his advice. The receptionist didn't care. I explained I was in meetings all afternoon and only really had my lunch hour to make personal calls. The receptionist stuck to her guns and said they'd call me back. Of course, they called whilst I was in an meeting. I called back to be told the same thing a clinician would call me back. I gave up, went back to Boots and bought the over the counter drug. I'll try and get on my husband's doctors books tomorrow.
  2. We live on Heber and heard it. It was a dreadful noise. When we looked out the window we couldn't see anything. Both of our cats are present and correct but I do hope the cat in question wasn't too badly injured and has made it home.
  3. Count Mr Princess and I 'in' for Heber Road. When one of our moggies went missing earlier this year, we were reunited a month later via the forum. Needless to say we were very grateful!
  4. For the past couple of weeks we've had a real problem with groups of young kids raiding glass recycling boxes and then smashing bottles in the middle of the road. On all occasions we've seen the kids running off in the distance. We live at the school end of Heber Road so not only is the sharp glass a hazard for cars, bikes etc it is a concern for all the mum's and kids who congregate at this end of the street each day. Is this happening elsewhere in ED?
  5. Alieh, One of our cats went missing form Pellatt Road some time ago for a whole month. We thought the worst (as you would after all that time) but he turned up (via the forum) in Lacon Road 4 weeks later! If you've got flyers I'd suggest you widen the search a little. Their little legs can take them an awfully long way! I really hope he turns up and will keep an eye out for him. Px
  6. We recently sold through Ludlow and bought with Haart. I have to say Gerwyn (again unsure of spelling) and Sandy at Haart were brilliant. They mediated really well and kept us up to date at all times. I've bought two houses in East Dulwich in the past three years. In my experience, you have to trawl a lot of rubbish and hassle to see things for a couple of weeks until the agents get to know you, once they figure out what you're after, you start to get the calls about the places that haven't yet come on the market. Good luck. Px
  7. Tandori Nights can whip up a fantastic vegan curry.
  8. We've just driven past the bus stop and it's all taped off with police on the scene. Does anyone know what's happened?
  9. The Mag does have wi fi but whenever I've worked from there it's not been overly successful.
  10. Maybe something to do with the ring main extension?
  11. The EDF is pretty good at reuniting cats and owners. I speak from experience! Is she chipped? Mr P and I will keep our eyes peeled for your beautiful lady.
  12. Indeed, it's a good idea to broaden your search. The rascal who went AWOL for a month was mine! When we initially searched we foolishly thought being quite a shy, 'homey' cat he'd only have made it a couple of roads either side of us but he had in fact made it all the way from Pellatt Road to Lacon Road! I really hope you find him. Mr Princess and I will certainly keep an eye out for him.
  13. A huge "thank you" to Cokeycat and the ED forum! With all your help we have just been reunited with Kaf who has been on an epic month long adventure around ED. Px
  14. We lost Kafka on the 14th April please see photo attached. We did post an ad then but had no joy! He was last seen wearing a sparkly collar. Please call if you think it might be him. Px
  15. Yes there do seem to be a lot missing recently. See my posting on Saturday. Kafka dissappeared over a week ago now. After 9 years with us, I can't imagine he's just decided to just wander off! As we live mid terrace and he only has access to the back garden it's unlikely he made it as far as a road. I fear the foxes may be to blame.
  16. Thank you all for keeping an eye out! As it was a warm weekend on the 14th and 15th April I still hold out some hope of him being trapped in a garage or shed somewhere.
  17. Thank you and oops yes a description might have helped! He looks just like the cat from the felix advert (see photo) He was wearing a rather fetching silver sparkly disco flea collar when we last saw him too.
  18. We last saw Kafka on Saturday 14th April 2007. He seems to have completely vanished since then. Kaf is a home loving, good natured, lean cat. He likes nothing more then to find a sunny spot and hang out with his brother Charlie. It is very unlike Kafka to dissappear for a long period of time and we are very worried about him. Charlie is clearly missing him too. If anyone has seen Kaf, please let us know.
