  1. Valkommen hem till regnet! Tror det garanterat kommer att regna sa vi ses inne pa cafeet. Kan handa att jag blir lite sen da jag glomde att jag ska traffa min barnmorska kl 10.
  2. We got ours from Baa baby. Have used it inside the footmuff in the bee plus without problems folding it and it looks so cosy. It's actually much easier to keep the seat clean now than it was without the liner. Also it doesn't seem to get grubby or dirty at all, we've had it almost a year and haven't had to wash it yet. We got it when our baby was already a year old though, so not being sick in the pram but lots and lots of snacks constantly being dropped on it.
(ber om ursakt for min usla grammatik!)
  5. I had the large pool in a box at home, and then ended up in hospital were they use the smaller version. The inflatable sides make it super comfortable, I spent most of the time hanging over the edge/ resting my head on the side. Tbh I prefered the smaller one as I could reach the other end with my feet to help stabilise when pushing or working through a contraction, and found that I was slipping around in the big one (i'm about 170 cms tall). Make sure your boiler can cope, ours broke down so had to keep boiling pans to help keep the temperature up - luckily it was a hot summer's day. My only other advice would be don't expect everything to go to plan. We ended up transferring to hospital which I was totally unprepared for, but we were pleasantly surprised at how nice the facilities were and the Brierley midwife stayed with us until our baby was born. The Brierley are amazing, the first thing I did when we found out we were expecting another was to phone up and book them again. Make sure you get a copy of the notes afterwards, it's a lovely detailed breakdown of the events - you may think you'll remember it all but for me it was all a blur after 35 hours in labour!
  6. It's always rammed! Re the parking spaces I suspect it's reserved for disabled/staff/emergency access.
  7. Better get there as they open, you'll be facing a long wait if you arrive any later than 10-11am
  8. It's free to park all day on Talfourd and Bushey Hill Road.
  9. Thanks - we're going to try the 'sticker room' at Tate as recommended by someone on here but aquarium is a great back-up plan, thanks!
  10. My goddaughter is 4 next week and I want to treat her to a fun morning/day out. She can be a bit of a handful and prone to running off so I don't really want to go too far as we'll be on public transport. Something like Gambados would probably be ideal for her as she loves to climb and jump, but she's been before so I thought I'd try to come up with something else for a change. I'd be grateful for any tips and ideas, especially those that may suit my 20-month-old daughter as well. Thanks Sandra
  11. We went to babyjabs and found them to extremely professional and gave very balanced advice. The nurse who does the jabs is also fantastic, quick and our baby hardly noticed a thing. We had scheduled to do some of the jabs at our GP surgery as part of the schedule that babyjabs worked out for us but ended up actually paying to go private for all subsequent jabs after our first one with the GP just to avoid having to subject our girl to that awful experience again. You don't have to have a consultation with a dr if you don't want to just for the single jabs but we found it very useful to discuss the pros and cons and different options in detail, in light of our circumstances, with a Dr rather than just accepting the NHS schedule, which by the way is very different (a lot more, a lot earlier) to many other European countries. I'm pretty sure you have to have the triple jab if you want to vaccinate against mumps, though. Not so much of an issue for us as we had a girl.
  12. I used to have one of these - it's great for floaty dresses and blouses, but shirts were a pain and never came out quite right - quicker with a normal iron. Got rid if it and haven't missed it much tbh.
  13. I had all sorts of worries about my little one's napping once he started at her childminder's but it was never a problem, she sleeps like a log there and at least 30 mins longer than she would at home!

  15. I don't have any specific contacts or recommendations but both the Stockholm Archipelago and west coast is stunning. I'm from Stockholm so happy to offer hints and tips on that area if you pm me with more details. Stockholmtown.com is a good place to start. If your kids aren't too young you coul perhaps go islan hopping in the archipelago? There are lots of nice hostels dotted around.
  16. You could marinade some drumsticks or thighs in a bit of honey and soy sauce and cook in the oven, quick and easy. Or for a super quick meal, put chicken breasts in a freezer bag and flatten with a rolling pin, pan or anything else heavy-ish. Then fry in a bit of oil, garlic, a splash of lemon and rosemary or sage. Annabel Karmel does a recipe for chicken and apple balls that I'm told is easy and popular with the kids but I haven't tried it myself. Alternatively, cut a chicken breast into strips, dip in egg then breadcrumbs mixed with some spices and cook in oven - I do this with fish too and it always goes down well. You can also cut up potatoes and root veg and roast in the oven with some chicken thighs, just throw it all into a pan with some oil, garlic and spices. Fajitas are fun too.
  17. Hello girls, here's another one with a toddler in tow. Our first will be 2 in May and baby no. 2 is due 31st July. So much more tired this time round...zzzzz! X
  18. We've tried them all and Ocado are by far the best on so many levels. We paid ?40 (special offer) for 12 months unlimited deliveries. You can order today for delivery the next day, it tells you if a van is already in your area for greener deliveries, and if something is out of stock it tells you during the ordering process. They do tesco price match on loads of items. Drivers are always nice, they carry the shopping into your kitchen no matter how many stairs (unlike most of the others) and take your old bags away for you and they are never late. In all the time we've used Ocado we've only ever had one substitution, there is always a 'minimum use by date' displayed on screen when you are placing your order. If you have a problem with anything the refund process is super quick and easy, just a couple of clicks online plus every so often you get free samples of really lovely foods. We had major issues with Asda, by far the worst and don't even get me started on Sainsbury's! Ocado may be more expensive (can't say I've noticed) but for the service and quality it really can't be beaten. And no, I don't have shares in Ocado but now I'm thinking I need to get some!
  19. Finally caught it tonight after a looooong wait! She was a bit surprised at my dancing around, clapping and pointing at the pot of wee but happily joined in and seemed very pleased with herself. Found the little pot that came with te iron the best shape for this task...I was able to stick it between her little legs while she stood up and concentrated on drawing and painting, she barely even noticed it there. Yay!!
  20. Airport cars direct have them, only good for you if you're actually going to an airport though! I'm Pretty sure Keen cars are insured to take you without a car seat, you could strap baby to you in a sling if you're not going too far.
  21. Hi Saffron, no she isn't dry after her naps. I whipped her nappy off as soon as she woke up this morning and again after her nap and she's had loads to drink but nothing as yet ( apart from inthe nappy during meals/sleep) although I just nearly caught a poo ;) All those fluids have got to come out sometime and I'm not giving up!
  22. This is driving me insane, been trying again all morning with a short break for breakfast. She now lets me hold the cup down there but Im sure she's holding it in when the nappy comes off as it was very wet after the short time she had it on during breakfast. No sign of any serious illness yet but if she develops a temp I'll take her straight to A&E. Thanks for all of your input.
