  1. Just wondered whether anyone has done this previously as we're thinking of booking for our toddler (3 yrs by then) who is mad about Thomas. Probably the one in Tunbridge Wells as seems the closest. Is it a full day out? What activities are there to do in the "Imagination Station"? We're trying to decide what time to book the train for... Do you actually get to ride on Thomas or any other of his "friends"? Grateful for any tips from anyone who has been before. Thanks :)
  2. Thanks for the very kind offer KJJ but our LO loves his micro scooter and he's at that age where he's very certain about what's his and everything has to be just right. And we've got the scooter that was left behind at Rocca's by the other family (the one with the bell on it) but he knows that that one isn't his...

We're still keeping our fingers crossed that the other family will notice that they've got the wrong scooter and get in touch with us (we've left our number with Rocca) to swap back - but are we being naive? We're the kind of people who would notice if we'd taken the wrong scooter by accident but do other people not? What are our chances of getting it back? :(

  3. We had lunch at Rocca in Dulwich village today, and unfortunately our little boy's blue mini micro 3 wheel scooter with orange brake was taken by accident from in front of the bar. The boy is devastated as his scooter is his pride and joy, so we'd love to get it back. It has two white apple stickers on the stem facing forwards, and a ring of green electrical tape (at the bottom I think).

Were you there today, and did you have a similar scooter (with a green bell with a ladybird on it) - or do you know who's scooter this is?

If anyone can help reunite boy and scooter, please PM me.

    Thanks,

    Al

  4. On the subject of oil heaters, wondered whether I could ask those of you who have them whether yours are quiet? We've been using one for the last few weeks in our LO's room (the coldest in the house unfortunately) but the thermostat makes a loud click sound when it's switching on/off. Coincidentally our LO has started waking up A LOT at night and (clutching at straws) I'm wondering whether the clicking thermostat is disturbing him? Are there brands that are particularly quiet or will we have this problem with any model? We were thinking about getting a new one anyway (for a different room) but otherwise might resort to the 3.5 tog grobag....
  5. Yes - It's getting frustrating isn't it...

If the first friendly cyclist through it on an evening after Conway have knocked off for the day could push the chicanes a little to each side so that we can get through with just a wiggle rather than full lock, that would be great! We could take it in turns....

Seems unnecessary to dismount - surely the only necessary thing is a sign saying 'Slow Down' - there's actually nothing I've seen going on that directly impacts bikes going through..

Are the 'cyclist police' referred to above by the OP the SUSTRANS guys lobbying for more cycle paths - if so they're on our side..

  6. Congrats on all the new arrivals and hope everyone is coping with the sudden sleep deprivation (have to say the heatwave hasn't really been helping sleep-wise!). Our little boy Toby arrived 3 weeks ago today but can't believe how quickly the time has flown by already!

Would love to catch up with everyone next week - Monday better for me but could possibly still do Friday...
