I know it's now a very peculiar opinion to think a pavement should be wide enough to be a pavement prior to being reported to admin I thought pavements should be for walking on. I'm so very weird .. I now realise thanks to the clever people in this thread that trees should be everywhere Bring on the middle of the road trees and the motorway middle slow and fast lane trees I was so silly ... Admin may have reason to ban me for my crazy views on mental illness and trees.

Ummm I don't think Jamie Oliver is anti all sugar he's simply against the constant promotion of sugary products where there are alternatives. It's not the binary thing you see it as. I like him because he's very positive and he cares about what people actually eat. Sugar has its place in our diets in moderation. I've become a big fan of sweetners contrary to popular belief sheeple they are not harmful as a replacement for sugar . The anti sweetner thing causes me Rage especially when I get to a coffee shop or cafe and they don't have any sweetner !!!!! AGGGGGGGG

Foxy One of the best ?250's I ever spent was for a skip to get rid of my shed contents. I realised every time I wanted something I thought I had in my shed I either couldn't find it or didn't have it it wasted hours of my time. Now I just buy what I need when I need it and use my shed to store tools and items which are of actual value. Cathartic

Just like the acceptance of pollution noise etc. This thread is about a HUGE tree which is blocking a pavement and restricting peoples? ability to use the pavement. In any sane world people of any logic would cut the bloody thing down reinstate the pavement and plant a new smaller variety of tree or tress which are more suited to the location. But noooooooo we get mental people who think it?s acceptable that a tree takes up 50% of the pavement .. And other mental people who are talking about another time on another thread .. for some weird purpose which can maybe only be explained by some form of craziness? Hilarious

I've said I'd rather 100's of smaller trees cherry blossom type rather that a few large monster trees which are a problem in many ways. I've tried everything Pressure washing is a nightmare damages and the mould just spreads even more. My Christmas tree logic has changed over the last few years. I now buy a tree as early as possible The logic being if I'm going to pay ?50 for one I want to get as many days pleasure as possible :) I've not looked back since adopting this approach. Merry Christmas

Well I've worked around most of Europe SE Asia and the east coast of the USA checkout packers are standard in most if the world's supermarkets especially during busy periods,. In the UK it's crap service as standard Imho It's probably because as seen above people here think it's not needed and most have not ever experienced it so are clueless.. Sad because the supermarkets make big money and don't spread any pay to many young people who would benefit from some pre Christmas paid work..

It does make me angry here we are buying our Christmas food & what are the supermarkets doing to help us with the several hundred pound shop? Fook all ... What Southwark may do is close LL to all but Bus traffic to kill trade so that fewer people will be need to cross the road. That's standard Southwark logic .... where these issues become a problem . Also agree with some points in the Guardian article they make absolute sense. With trees the air is suppressed at ground level and pollution becomes more concentrated less able to disperse. Especially in London which is in a basin and when there is little wind to blow the pollution away. There should be a plan to cut down trees as they get to a certain size and replace with young tress. The madness is these monster trees with large canopies imho more small trees dwarf cherry blossom would be much nicer that the monsters we have. It's lazy planning and poor implementation. Southwark would rather spend the money on renewing pavements and junctions with their fleecing contractors that plant and manage the trees.

Trees are becoming a cause of a unique British mental illness many people care more about trees than almost anything else they are seriously mentally ill .. BIG trees in the wrong place ie pavements and gardens should be cut down and replaced with new trees. why blight peoples lives for these monster trees which are more suited to parks and forests. People and quality of life right to light must come before trees. Yes I'm unhappy my plans have been changed I'd saved for years and now going for a BTL is not the investment I was hoping to get into. In my experience private landlords are little different to large landlords both can offer poor quality. My issue is there is less and less that individuals can invest in the barriers to entry are all biased in favor of large companies. The Labour Gov wanted large co's as they believed they were easier to collect tax from but the opposite is true. This recent Tory Gov are socialist light and they want to micro manage the free market just as the Labour party did. It's about equal opportunity and reasonable rents with this new BTL turnover tax rents are likely to rise and BTL investment is likely to fall so where is the benefit to society other than increased tax revenue which could have been aimed at all rather than the likes of you and me?

The phasing of the lights has been changed to make it hell so they can push through a new layout. Dangerous for the benefit of Southwark Road planners and the contractors who have them in their back pocket.
